Aunti Carmen is the sister of my Nana Mary, and Leli is her husband. Growing up, I had heard stories about what life was like for my family in Malta and their experience coming to America. But this is definitely the most detail I have ever gotten. Hearing them talk, I was struck by how different life is when survival is not a given. I feel like there are so many things I have the luxury of focusing on and caring about because I am not worried about day-to-day survival. And that gave me a deeper appreciation for the struggle that my family has gone through to create the life that I have today.

This is the third installment of the Newport Oregon boys. Kyle and J.Ryan were incredible this trip. I feel like both of them opened up a lot more on this pod, and I was honestly stunned at some of the conversations we had on the pod. A lot of these conversations I didn't hear until I was editing the episode, and I feel like this is such an incredible example of how psychedelics can open people up and help them to process in a way that I haven't seen possible without psychedelics. Coachella was amazing this year. Third time at Coachella, but first time I went both weekends. Feel really lucky that I was able to do that, and definitely want to prioritize doing that in the future. It really is the best festival for music quality, and it really does feel like the artists care more about Coachella.
