Dave grew up in Western Pennsylvania and spent most of his early childhood and adult life in and out of hockey rinks around the world; playing in cities such as Ottawa, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids. His love and skill for hockey lead into a professional career in Europe playing in many countries including Luxemburg, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland and finally Germany.

For over 13 years, Dave has worked NHL, NFL, Track and Field, and CrossFit athletes with their mental preparation, and hundreds of organizational leaders and executives around the world. Dave’s personal vision is to unify excellence in the marketplace. He has founded 4 thriving companies in the Raleigh, North Carolina community. 1. Slapshot to Salvation
   A literal slapshot to the face (yes, like broken-nose, nerve-damage kind of slapshot) became the divine wake-up call that pivoted Dave’s life. Sometimes it really does take a hockey puck to the face to hear God clearly.
   
   
2. Jesus Over Hangovers
   At 16, fresh off a state championship and a hangover, Dave had a holy interruption when his brother from Moody Bible Institute asked him if he wanted to keep living like that—or receive Jesus. Hungover or not, Dave said yes to Jesus.
   
   
3. Grace-Fueled Grit
   He barely passed high school, but chased knowledge like a beast and just finished his PhD (hello, Dr. Dave!)—proving that being “not academic” doesn’t disqualify you when God’s the one writing your story.
   
   
4. Marketing Ministry that Moves Mountains
   Dave has been running M is Good for 24 years, managing $1.6 million a month in ad spend for 38 Christian orgs globally. It’s not just marketing; it’s ministry with strategy and Holy Spirit-led messaging.
   
   
5. Turtle on a Fence Post Wisdom
   His favorite analogy: if you see a turtle on a fence post, you know it didn’t get there by itself. That’s how he sees his journey—with God as the one lifting him higher than he could ever climb on his own.
   
   
6. God doesn’t always pick the obvious candidates—so relax.
   Dr. Dave reminds us that God tends to use the least expected people to do powerful things. You don’t have to be a marketing guru to start a Christian marketing business (he sure wasn’t)—you just have to say yes and be willing to figure things out as you go.

1. Confidence isn’t always spiritual—it can come from just doing what you love.
   Confidence doesn’t have to float down from heaven on a cloud. Sometimes it’s built in the trenches—or on the ice rink. Dr. Dave leaned on the grit and resilience he learned from sports to push through early business doubts and roadblocks.
   
   
2. Ask the hard question: “Am I usable?”
   While soaking in a worship song about being used by God, Dr. Dave had a wake-up moment. He asked himself if he was actually in a place where God could use him. That led to some personal soul-searching and change. A humbling reminder that being “called” doesn’t mean skipping character work.
   
   
3. Don’t over-spiritualize—just listen, think, and align.
   Dave’s not the type to claim burning bush moments. Instead, he hears from God through alone time, journaling, and reading Scripture. His method? Follow peace, check the fruit, and if it’s not hurting anyone (including himself), take a step forward and see if things line up.
   
   
4. What knocks you down doesn’t define you.
   That slapshot to the face (literal blood and trauma) taught him a deep truth: Painful events don’t get to label you. Whether it’s a business failure or personal screw-up, it’s just a moment—not your identity. Shake it off, reset, and remember who you are.
   
   
5. “If you don’t like who you are, you can change it” — and Dave did!
   One simple statement from a mentor changed everything for Dave. He turned off the TV for two years, devoured 30 books, and jumpstarted a whole new trajectory for his life.
   
   
6. Bookworm phase = Destiny shift
   Those two years of focused reading didn’t just upgrade his mindset—they altered his impact. Talk about a ripple effect! Sometimes the quiet seasons with a stack of books are what set you up for legacy-level impact.
   
   
7. Divine ambush in Germany
   On what was supposed to be just a business trip, Dave gets singled out by an apostle at church, receives a powerful word, hits the floor, and has a Holy Spirit encounter that shakes him to his core. Not your average business travel story.
   
   
8. The birth of “R7” from a spiritual download
   That prophetic moment planted a seed that grew into his full-blown life and business framework: R7. It came through soaking, wrestling, believing—and waiting. God even sent mentors for each piece of it, for free. That’s what we call Kingdom provision.
   
   
9. He didn’t shelve the word—he stewarded it
   Even though he didn’t act right away, Dave didn’t dismiss or forget the word he got in Germany. He sat with it, prayed about it, and waited on God’s timing. That’s a masterclass in how to honor a word from the Lord without rushing it.

Yep, Darby and I just kept talking and decided to hit record!
All truth is God’s truth! Even non-believers can use spiritual principles. We, as maturing Sons of God, need to be operating at a higher level of understanding, power, and authority to bring more heaven to earth!

HIGHLIGHTS:
1. Spiritual laws work—whether you know Jesus yet or not. 
Just because someone isn't in a church pew doesn't mean they’re not getting results. Why? Because they’re tapping into spiritual principles that God wired into the universe. All truth is God’s truth—even if people stumble into it without knowing the Source. It's not New Age magic; it's divine design. Now, if they are accessing this power outside of Christ, there will be a price to pay. Jesus already paid the price for us as believers to access this spiritual power.

2. The enemy doesn’t create—he imitates.
Satan has zero original ideas. He can only copy God's systems and twist them. That means when people use spiritual tools the wrong way, it's not because the tools are bad—it's because they’re being hijacked. The original blueprint? Still God's.

3. We’re wired to desire—but only God fulfills.
Desire isn’t sinful. It’s sacred. We were designed with desire on purpose—by God. The problem is when we try to satisfy that desire outside of Him. So what are addictions? Misguided attempts to fill a divine ache that only Jesus can satisfy.

4. You’re not just a spectator—you’re a co-creator.
We’re not meant to just pray “Your will be done” and sit around waiting. We were created to go into heaven, see what God wants, and bring it here. That’s not some woo-woo theology—it’s kingdom responsibility. You’ve got authority, and you’re built to orchestrate things from the spiritual realm.

5. Comfort is the enemy of calling.
When everything shakes (and it will), what’s really being tested is where your security lies. Are you clinging to the conveniences of the world, or are you anchored in the unshakeable kingdom? The illusion of safety keeps people stuck—but you? You were made for more than microwave faith and spiritual autopilot.

6. Don’t Be Impressed by the Supernatural if Your Life’s a Mess.
You can have visions, dreams, or talk about angels all day, but if your life looks like chaos, something's off. The fruit matters. Real encounters with God should produce real transformation. Don’t settle for hype—go after what actually works.

7. Truth Isn’t Just a Concept—It’s a Person.
Darby drops a truth bomb here: transformation happens in layers, but the ultimate goal isn't just knowledge—it’s relationship. Jesus is the capital T Truth, and the more you engage with Him, the freer and more aligned your life becomes.

8. Ask God for Real—He’ll Show Up.
Forget arguing theology. If someone’s skeptical, just dare them to ask God to reveal Himself. He’s not hiding. Darby even “double dog dares” people to pray a one-liner—and guess what? People encounter God. Because He’s real, and He loves the invitation.

9. We’ve Got Something Better Than New Age: A Personal God.
You can experiment with breathwork or study the laws of attraction, but the difference for believers is relationship. The Kingdom life isn’t just metaphysical principles—it’s grace, truth, and a God who walks with you. And that changes everything.

10. Mind Renewal Is About Releasing, Not Striving.
You're not trying to become something new—you’re uncovering who you already are in Christ. Religion piles stuff on. Kingdom peels it off so your true identity can shine. You’re not fighting for victory—you’re living from it.

1. You grow when you say yes to the uncomfortable.
   Gene opens up by admitting he’s a little nervous being on the show (adorable, right?), but he hits us with this truth bomb: “We expand by our choice.” Growth often means stepping into unfamiliar spaces—and saying yes, even when it’s scary.
   
   
2. He was raised in faith... but it was more “theory” than fire.
   Growing up Mennonite, Gene knew about God, but not with God. It was head knowledge without heart connection—until later, when divine sparks started flying.
   
   
3. His first God moments felt weird—and he ignored them.
   In college, he bumped into Holy Spirit encounters that didn’t fit his box… so he brushed them off. (Relatable much?) Looking back, he sees they were divine breadcrumbs.
   
   
4. Ministry happened...even when he didn’t feel qualified.
   Gene and his family—the adorable “Smiley Crew”—were doing ministry, and one night God just took over. Youth were weeping at the altar, and Gene was like, “Wait, what just happened?” It was a Holy Spirit ambush… in the best way.
   
   
5. He wasn’t seeking an encounter—God showed up anyway.
   Ten years ago, Gene wasn’t striving or hyping anything. He told God, “If I’m not feeling it, I’m not faking it.” That’s exactly when God showed up. No performance, just presence.
   
   
6. Same guy, new dimension.
   His wife noticed it—Gene was still the same man, but now he was walking in a deeper “yes” to God. He wasn’t becoming someone different—he was becoming more of who God made him to be.
   
   
7. From finance guy to faith guy.
   Gene taught financial classes from Dave Ramsey… now he hears God in his dreams. Talk about a shift! His journey moved from spreadsheets and savings to visions, encounters, and Kingdom abundance.
   
   
8. A scary nudge out of the box.
   Gene sensed God leading him to financially help a friend—in a way that made zero logical sense. His inner budget guy panicked… but his spirit whispered “maybe.”
   
   
9. Gift vs. transaction—what’s the real investment?
   When it came time to act, Gene had to confront this: Was he giving out of control or out of love? A gift with no strings attached became the doorway to something much deeper.
   
   
10. Breaking free from a poverty mindset took a radical act.
    Nothing broke that old scarcity story like borrowing money… to give it away. It wasn’t the amount. It was the surrender. That act cracked something wide open in him.
    
    
11. “Freedom Flow” wasn’t just a nice idea—it was a spiritual download.
    Within 24 hours of giving that gift, downloads from Heaven began pouring in. He called it “Freedom Flow”—a divine invitation to live from overflow, not lack.
    
    
12. It’s not about giving away money—it’s about relational abundance.
    Freedom Flow isn’t a “give-it-all-away” program—it’s a lifestyle of trust, connection, and Kingdom-minded generosity. The money isn’t the main character… relationship is.

PURE GOLD:80-90% of people are separated from the land of their inheritance. This limits access to the fullness of God’s blessing, and the open heaven for rich encounters with the Lord.  Ask the Lord if your family was taken from the land, or was the land taken from your family.

HIGHLIGHTS:– Finding a man of peace on each side of the Israeli / Palestinian border amidst the bombing and gunfire.

– Asking for a new memorial to be written because the last time His name was written it was written by a Roman, and put on a cross. It called him the King of the Jews. But he's not just the King of the Jews. He's the King of kings.

– Miraculous things start happening when you find the land that’s calling your name!  You begin to steward over the things He’s calling you to steward over. Especially the presence of God.
– Everybody that I know is praying for a move of God to come. But what if we don't know how to steward over the presence, when it comes we'll ruin it. Because we'll do something that dishonors the King of kings, or dishonors one another, and he'll take up the cause of the righteous, and he'll protect and uphold the rights of the widow and the orphan and the poor and the strangers among us.– If we despise anything that he despises, our field might stop producing fruit, not because it's not capable of it, but because God will require repentance before it will spring to life again.– The land will reflect to you the condition of your heart.  If you're right with God, it will be a bountiful field. If you're not, it will let you know. This is how it's supposed to work from the beginning. This is why the garden was important.

– This is really important. To understand that when you find your field.  One of the highest and most fun things to do is to inquire of God about details on the field, what he wants, what he likes. If something's there, grow it out. If it's not there, plant it or build it.– You have to name it. The field really does come alive when you name it correctly, just like a child coming out of a womb. If I name it correctly, it's because I've discovered its creative purpose and design. So I don't want to call it something just because I like the name. I want to call it what God says it is. If it's a field of olives, then I'm going to give it a name that reflects that. If it's going to be a city, then I want to call out the name of that city. You want to name your field, what God says its inherent purpose is. Then that gives you a clue on what you're going to steward over all the days of your life.– In the book of Acts Barnabus was the first to sell property and give the money to the apostles. But this was actually an act of repentance for owning a field he wasn’t supposed to have as a Levite. He would have had to find the heirs of the original land owner to sell it back into their family to restore their inheritance and make the land right again with God.

It’s with great pleasure and expectation that I welcome my dear friend and fellow heaven sojourner, Timothy Bence, back to the show.  I could think of none better to teach on inheritance and stewarding our Kingdom for the Kings on Fire™ peeps as we begin our course on the territories of our Kingdom.

He lives with a promise from the Lord, and a growing desire to see whole cities and nations saved where every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord.Timothy keeps a balance between ministry and business, and has helped start several churches and ministries. He travels about 50 percent of the time, preaching and teaching, which has extended to almost every State in the US, and to over many nations thus far. He is the founder of a ministry called Jubilee Covenant that is restoring the Tabernacle of David and developing a model for 24-hour prayer, worship, and city structure. He has helped create ministries that provide aid to orphans, widows, and the poor within self-sustainable cities. His business is called World Feeder, and he has helped start several businesses that are involved in growing food and trade that helps create sustainable communities alongside mission bases.He holds a BA in General Studies and an MA in International Affairs, and participates locally in many different citywide efforts to bring unity and one accord to the Body of Christ in the metropolitan area of Oklahoma City.

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Barrenness makes us cry out 
- We have to disengage from a culture God doesn’t honor

- Haran = the place of hesitation
- Say Yes, and then ask questions.
- God doesn’t always create it, sometimes He grows it
- Not just for me, but for my household
- When Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden of Eden, the lost lost its heir.
- To qualify as a mature son, you have to have a relationship with Father. You have to look like Him, act like Him, and make decisions like Him.
- God honors the heart first
- Church vs. Ekklesia
- An assembly (ekklesia) requires fully functioning legislators
- Experientially living in both realms- Boundaries are important to God

I’m going solo in this episode because there’s a lot of confusion, misinformation and even fear around working with angels as a Christian.  But mostly there’s just a lack of awareness of these helpers God has provided to us as the heirs of salvation, as Hebrews 1:14 tells us.

As with anything I do or teach, we do NOTHING without eyes on Jesus, and under His guidance.  I do NOT endorse engaging any spiritual beings outside of those the Lord has specifically assigned to you or introduced to you.  And, of course, relationship with the Godhead is the first thing we seek…even though we’re invited to seek first His kingdom, I believe that means first AFTER seeking God himself.

In Ephesians 3:10 it says that “through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.”
I don’t go into this in the episode, but essentially that means that spiritual beings may not already know all the multifaceted wisdom of God, and his plan is for us—the church—to reveal it to them.
In fact, 1 Peter 1:12 says that angels long to peer into the affairs of men.  I love Romans 8:19 in the Passion Translation: “The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters!”

Also, keep in mind that angels aren’t used to working with us from the heavenly realms because most Christians have not taken their position as “seated in heavenly places with Christ” seriously.  From the encounters I’ve had either personally or with my clients, both angels and the people in white from the cloud of witnesses are very happy and excited to work with us.  It’s just a new experience on both sides.  Fun times we live in!!
That said, here are the juicy bits…
HIGHLIGHTS:

• Partnering with Heaven in Business: Your business is a Kingdom venture, and Heaven is ready to co-labor with you. But like any partnership, relationship comes first, and then clear agreements—such as the Declaration of Trade, your covenant with Heaven.
  
  
• Angels Need Clarity Too: Unlike God, angels aren’t omniscient. They need clear instructions, just like earthly employees. Although they are awe inspiring and incredibly knowledgeable and resourceful, don't assume they "just know" what you want—lay it all out.
  
  
• Operations Manual in Heaven: Just as businesses have SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), your business needs one in the spirit realm too. It really helps the angels out when goals and strategies have been documented.
  
  
• Clearly Identify Your Ideal Clients: If you don’t define the people you really want to play in the sandbox with and can serve well in your heavenly business plan, angels won’t know who to bring. Be specific about your Kingdom assignment and who you're called to serve.
  
  
• Angels Co-Labor with You, Not Instead of You: They won’t replace your hustle, but they orchestrate divine connections while you do the footwork. Kingdom business is about faith and action.
  
  
• Time Chunking is a Spiritual Strategy: Time management isn’t just practical—it aligns you with Heaven’s flow. Writing time-blocking strategies into your heavenly operations manual (and sticking to them in your daily routine) helps your angelic team.
  
  
• Your Business has a Destiny: Before you ever had a business idea, Heaven already had a blueprint for it. You’re not just making things up—you’re walking out a divine plan. Be sure to receive it and unpack it with Holy Spirit.
  
  
• Scripture is a Business Growth Strategy: Like Psalm 103:20 says, angels move when you speak out God's Word over your business. Use personalized scripture as declarations to activate Heaven.
  
  
• A Cloud of Witnesses Are Cheering You On: You’re not just building alone. Saints from generations past are invested in your success because your business is part of God’s unfolding redemption plan.  Their destinies are not complete without us.
  
  
• Entrepreneurial Anointing is in Your Bloodline: If faithfulness runs through a thousand generations, that means you can call forth entrepreneurial blessings from your spiritual heritage. Your ancestors' prayers and breakthroughs aren’t lost.
  
  
• Your Business is a Kingdom Solution: This isn’t just about making money—it’s about bringing Heaven to Earth. Your business is a solution to a problem God wants to fix, and your destiny scroll holds the blueprint to make it happen. Angels are assigned to help you.
