  • God's Freedom Delivered Through a Horse Named Reba

#13: Today we are wrapping up the Soul Care series with this last episode. We’ll do a recap of some important takeaways from the previous episodes and I’ll share a personal story of how healing fear in my soul led me to freedom with a horse named Reba.

    Key Takeaways:

    • If you're in Christ, your spirit man is good. It's your soul that needs some help.
    • Many people want supernatural deliverance and that can occur, but there's practical application.
    • It's important for us to have the perception of how God sees what's going on in our lives versus how we see it.
    • Fear will always agree with you when you're negative about yourself.
    • Matthew 7:11 ”If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!“
    • It is important to know that different modalities work for one person that may not work for another. Seeking deeper treatment for your soul is very individually based and always consult the Holy Spirit and he will guide you to what you need.
    • EFT Tapping or Emotional Freedom Techniques. EFT tapping is a mind-body method of tapping acupuncture points (acupoints) on the hands, face, and body with your fingertips while focusing on an issue or feeling you're hoping to resolve. This method may reduce stress and anxiety, improve performance, lessen cravings, and help resolve fears.
    • Fear is an emotion and emotions make up our soul. When we do the work of healing our soul, it allows God to work freedom in us.
    • Soul work is so important and so necessary. It isn’t something that we arrive at or complete.

  • Your Family Dynamics Influence Your View of God

#12: The way we view our earthly father or earthly mother and our earthly siblings can directly influence the way that we view the Trinity. On today's episode, we have a special guest, Karen Hauck, and she will be sharing with us how our earthly family relationships can directly influence our relationships with our Heavenly Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is a very dynamic conversation that we have, and I'm really joy filled to share it with you.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Sometimes we hit these walls and we're not moving forward, or the same patterns are getting repeated. It's important for us to have the perception of how God sees what's going on in our lives versus how we see it.
    • When we get saved, we come into the Kingdom and we accept that our lives are a mess and we need somebody other than ourselves to run it. The Holy Spirit comes and He takes residence inside of us. It begins this journey of an identity as a son or a daughter.
    • God has a plan for us and we become Ambassadors. We have a specific role to be releasing the Kingdom of God on the earth.
    • Romans 12:2 TPT "Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God's will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes."
    • God is never silent. His biggest joy is to interact with us.
    • Fear will always agree with you when you're negative about yourself. Fear is never going to be the voice or the spirit because it is an actual spirit that says, good job, way to go. I love how you're doing that.
    • Fear, anxiety, worry, all those things become, we don't mean to do it, but they get built up and they also block us from God.
    • It was never God's intent to punish us. His only intent has always been to love us and to bring us close.

    Resources:

    • You can reach Karen Hauck on Instagram, Facebook, and her website.

    Heavenly Position Guidance Challenge:

For this week’s HPS Challenge, take out your journal and spend at least 15 minutes in a quiet space if possible. Marinate on what Karen shared and start to write down what you felt like the Holy Spirit was saying to you during this interview and if there was anything that you felt God was speaking to you.

In this episode we talked about things that block us from hearing from God. Write those things down that you think might be blocking you from hearing God and go to Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. He is, as Karen was saying, always wanting to communicate with us. And there's so many ways that he can communicate with us. But take this time now to connect with your Father.

  • Caring For Your Soul

#11: On today's show, we have a special guest, LaTara Venise, and I'm excited to have her join us. And we're going to talk all things soul care today. We've talked about how our soul is made up of our mind, will, and emotions. In this episode, we're going to talk about what it means to care for our soul and how it can actually help us grow in greater intimacy with God.

    Key Takeaways:

    • The five keys of soul care, steep your life in the kingdom, know your identity, know your values, know your priorities and know your needs.
    • If you're in Christ, your spirit man is good. It's your soul that needs some help.
    • We're taught to suck our emotions. We apologize for something that's natural. It should happen. It's okay.
    • We become emotionally stunted at the age where we stopped showing our emotions.
    • God breathed everything you need to exist in the body.
    • We can't move effectively in our identity when our soul is dinged up.
    • You value yourself even more when you begin to walk in the identity that God has given you.
    • To start healing your soul, start with admitting you have a hard time with your emotions to the Lord.
    • So many people want supernatural deliverance and that can occur, but there's practical application.

  • Your Questions Answered

#10: On today’s episode, well this episode is going to be a little bit different. We are going to do a little listener Q&A and I’m going to share a new mini-series we will be doing over the next two episodes.

We got some great questions that will touch on our emotions & mind, what does a spirit led life look like for me and what do I use to help me get through tough moments.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Affirmation defined: the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed.
    • Holy Spirit dwells in us and he provides conviction and the truth of God’s word.
    • Isaiah 43:19, ”Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.“
    • For me a spirit led life looks like consulting the Holy Spirit on the big and the small details of my life.
    • Holy Spirit will put out those 4 alarm fires our mind can ignite.
    • Ephesians 4:26-27, ”Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.“
    • Proverbs 14:30, ”A sound mind makes for a robust body, but runaway emotions corrode the bones.“
    • Romans 12:2, ”Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.“
    • 2 Corinthians 5:17, ”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.“

    Resources:

    • Episode 5: How Are You Created in God's Image?
    • Episode 7: Who Is the Holy Spirit?

    Heavenly Position Guidance Challenge:

For this week’s HPS Challenge, take out your journal and spend at least 15 minutes in a quiet space if possible. I want to send these questions back to you. What would be your Godly affirmation for tough moments? Seek God about this. He will give you what you need to encourage you.

What does it mean to you to have a spirit led life? And finally what is God saying to you about emotions and mind? Go as deep as you want with him. It is so fun to go down what I call rabbit holes with him and follow where he leads you. I did that with these questions.

  • Meet Your Heavenly Board of Directors

#08: What would it look like to have a Heavenly Board of Directors or what does that even mean?

On today's episode we have a special guest Dr. Eboni L. Truss. She will share with us what that means and how we can apply it to our everyday lives.

    Key Takeaways:

    • People are branding who they want to become instead of who God called them to be.
    • Practice being in the physical presence of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
    • When we only focus on one aspect of the Trinity, we are only receiving one-third of the wisdom, knowledge and strategy.
    • God is the God of Abundance - Jeremiah 33
    • To start to incorporate your Heavenly Board of Directors, say yes and invite them in to every area of your life.
    • You can have a level o intimacy with God to be your father.
    • Surrender and yield to fatherly experiences with God.

  • Who is the Holy Spirit?

#07: If you watched the recent Super Bowl, you might have seen the commercials for He Gets Us and if you didn’t watch the Super Bowl, you probably heard about them.

Those commercials have been controversial in the Christian community to say the least. Well we’re not going to talk about the commercials in this episode but what I will say is rather than He Gets Us, I say He’s In Us, The Holy Spirit that is.

On today’s episode, we are going to dive a little deeper in to who the Holy Spirit is and what He does in us, for us and through us.

    Key Takeaways:

    • A.W. Tozer wrote in his book, How to be Filled with the Holy Spirit, “oh, if God’s people could only learn that spirit can penetrate personality, that your personality is not an impenetrable substance, but can be penetrated.”
    • The Holy Spirit:

-- He convicts the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment

-- He is the Spirit of truth

    -- He will guide you

-- What he hears from heaven, he will speak

-- He will declare to you the things that are to come

-- He will glorify God & Jesus

-- He will take what is the Father’s and declare it to you

    -- Strengthens & Equips us

-- Does the work of regeneration

-- Gives us life and sustains us

-- Purifies, unifies, guides and directs us

    -- Comforts us

-- Gives us assurance and evidence of God’s presence

-- Reveals the Father’s love to us

-- Teaches and illuminates God’s word to us

    • ”Jesus breaks the chains and the Holy Spirit helps remove the chains and heals the trauma from the chains.” - Pastor Jordan Tardo
    • Being filled with the Holy Spirit is something that happens daily. What it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit is that we are yielding our lives to him to lead us and guide us and some days this is easier than others. It is a constant surrender and practice and the more we do it, the more we exercise that muscle so we can fully live by his guidance.

  • January Reflections for Body, Soul & Spirit

#06: We’ve learned in episode 5 that we are made of three parts and each of those parts has three parts.

On today’s episode, I’m going to do a January recap of what has been supporting me in each of those areas. I’ll even share a little inside my journal and what God has spoken to me in January. I hope this episode inspires and encourages you.

    Key Takeaways:

    • A recap of what those parts are, for the body they are speech, the five senses and action. Our soul is made up of our mind, will and emotions. And our spirit is made up of our conscious, fellowship and intuition.
    • I share what supported me in each area of my body, soul & spirit with lots of tips.
    • I know our society tells us to receive praise we need to do a good job. We start to associate love with actions when in fact that is the opposite of what God says in his word. We can see this in Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
    • A message form Flag Messages by Gather Ministries: "You are not defined by the world’s standards - unless you want to be. You do not need to be trapped by false ideals, imprisoned by other people’s expectations of you. You have not one thing to prove. Not to me."

    Resources:

  • How Are You Created In God's Image?

#05: We are designed in God’s image. The Bible tells us this in Genesis 1:27, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

We know that God is a triune God and if we are created in his image, doesn’t that mean we are also triune in our make up?

On today’s episode, we will look at the three parts that make up man and the core of our make up is our spirit, which is our purpose, meaning and identity.

    Key Takeaways:

    • You will come to explore the answers to questions you might have around your identity and the Holy Spirit will begin to reveal YOUR truth to you.
    • We were designed body, soul and spirit. We see this in 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭23‬, “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
    • The body is made up of three main parts, speech, the five senses and action.
    • Our body is how we relate to our environment. It is very world conscious. It is affected by what is going on around us both directly and indirectly.
    • Our soul is made up of our mind, will and emotions as described in ‭‭Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭30, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
    • Our soul is how we relate to others. It is very self-conscious. Our souls can be in direct conflict with our spirit.
    • Our spirit component is quite misunderstood, often because it is not visible as the body, and it is more subtle than the will of the mind (consciousness of the soul). This is all the more reason to get to grips with the spirit at the core of our being.
    • Our spirit is how we relate to God. It is God-Conscious.
    • Our spirit is made up of our conscious, fellowship and intuition.
    • The more you get to know who God is, how He designed you, listening will become much easier.

    Heavenly Position Guidance Challenge:

For this week’s HPS Challenge, take out your journal and spend at least 15 minutes in a quiet space if possible. We are going to do some journaling on each of the parts of man:

For your Body: Invite the Holy Spirit to show you as you read the scriptures how to bring the body you have been given into alignment with the spirit man within.

For your Soul: What truths do you believe that you can consider might be something your mind created? What areas of your life have you let your emotions lead you?

For your Spirit: What small steps could you take today to allow the Holy Spirit to lead you?
