Since the dawn of civilization we've been trying to answer the question "what is a good life?"  Jesus answers this question in his lesson on the "vine and the branches".

Lets reflect on the call of a good shepherd by focusing on these two words: being good, and being a shepherd.  

Gnosticism was the problem during the first century, and St. John the Apostle addressed this problem with in his Letter with a simple reminder: humanity and divinity must not be separated.  To know God we must love one another, there is not other way.  This temptation to separate humanity from divinity is visible even in our day.  How?  When we think that perfect prayer is all we need to grow in faith, perfect liturgy, perfect knowledge of theology, etc.  But what about love of neighbour, love of that which is human, created, right in front of our noses?  Those who claim to know God and yet do not love their neighbour are living a lie. 

When we look at the lives of first Christians we can easily observe that their faith changed their lives.  Nothing was the same after the resurrection.  How about us?  Would our lives be different if we did not believe in God?

God saves us from death, sin, and suffering, but not in the way that we may expect. 

John 3:16 is arguably the best known passage from the New Testament, and for good reason.  It not only reveals the purpose of God's action, but also God's motivation.  Here we will explore the love of God and the reality of condemnation and judgment as realities that are all rooted in God who is LOVE.

In the cleansing of the temple Jesus displays his passion for humanity, and in so doing shows us the proper way to live as human being called to live a life of great passion.

The account of the Transfiguration of Jesus offers us some important spiritual lessons: waiting on the Lord, praying as a Church, and resting in the mystery of God.

What is the greatest battle our world? Jesus gives us the clue from his own life, by fighting the greatest battle at the beginning of his public ministry.
