If you want to find the ultimate thing, you have to ask the question and if you want to acquire something, you have to ask about it. And whatever you ask about, that's what you're going to get. So if you just ask about the basic necessities of life, you get what the snails get: just a little grass. But if you ask about God, then you can get that. So the Brahma-sūtra says, "Athāto Brahma-jijñāsā." Now you should ask, who is Brahman?
