Dr. Mick Collins has had a diverse career since leaving school in 1972 at 15-years old. He has worked as a builder’s labourer, infantryman and heavy goods truck driver, as well as travelling and working around the world for six years from 1977-83. He also lived in a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in the UK between1983-6. Mick’s personal transformative journey includes working through an experience known as spiritual emergency. This deep encounter catalysed his vocation, and inspired him to train as an occupational therapist, which led him to work in an acute mental health setting and in a specialist psychological therapies team. During this time he spent nine years training in Process Oriented Psychology, incorporating humanistic and transpersonal methods into his therapeutic practice. Mick also worked for ten years as a Lecturer and Director of Admissions within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK. He retired from academia in 2015. 

Mick is the author of several books: The Unselfish Spirit: Human Evolution in a Time of Global Crisis (won the 2014 Scientific and Medical Network book prize); The Visionary Spirit: Awakening to the Imaginal Realm in the Transformocene Age – 2018); The Restorative Spirit: Illumination of Conscience and Soul Progression in a Time of Global Awakening – 2022).
