Inspired by the amazing Ott show last night (with a great opening set by Skoi Sirius and the dubstep stylings of Phidelity), I’m finally posting this mix, recorded at the Visitations of a New Dawn party in March ’04. Starting out super chill and moving into a delicious psydub groove, it features a lot of Ott and the many various Simon Posford side projects. I used 3 CDJs, a sampler/sequencer and a Kaos Pad 2 effects processor, so there were lots of opportunities for me to sprinkle in extra bits to enhance these already amazing pieces of music.

In celebration of a new day for American politics, here’s a celebratory morning chillout set I played during the final few hours of a three-day event, Memorial Day weekend, 2007. The night before was silent so those with long drives ahead of them could rest peacefully, and I played the first set of the morning. This blissful mix is a collection of my favorite cheerful, rise-and-shine music.

Another set from way back, recorded 9.29.01 at the Stylus Grooves Grand Opening Party, in Eugene, OR. The party was in the EMU (student union building on the U of O campus) and was decked out with the MASSIVE ServoDrive sound system run by Stylus Grooves record store owner and amazing Drum and Bass DJ, Silver. It was fun to party on campus like that and apparently my set was very well received. Sadly though, the recording did not catch the entire set, but most of the good bits are there for your enjoyment.

Sorry no tracklist. I’ll gladly ID a track for you if ask, though. Listen for tracks by Hallucinogen, Infected Mushroom, Growling Mad Scientists, Space Tribe and other kings of early psytrance history. I may motivate myself to work it out at some point, but I wouldn’t hold your breath for that.

Moving from chunky progressive to melodic psytrance, this mix, recorded 5-25-2007, represents a pretty typical trance set from me. Though, lately I’ve been working a breaks track or three into my sets as well.

This is the last half of my chillout set from OODE VI (Memorial Day Weekend, 2002). Despite its truncated nature, it’s still a goody. 38 minutes of psybient bliss with additional live effects and sample manipulations by me.
