We talk about our Blu-ray collections, our favorite Criterions, and then deep dive into Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom, and debate its merits.
A friend from the east coast joins us to discuss Jim Jarmush, Ozu’s filmography, Weezer of all things, and finally a deep discussion of the J “horror” film Cure (1997).
We’re joined by special guest Daisuke Beppu who is one of our favorite movie review YouTubers. Daisuke skyped in all the way from Tokyo to discuss his channel and review Edward Yang’s 1991 masterpiece: A Brighter Summer Day.
Chandler & Jacob discuss Jaws (1975) with guest host Nick Johnson and review American Movie (1999), a documentary about the trials and tribulations of an independent filmmaker in Milwaukee, WI.
Jacob has been busy watching movies while social distancing, including watching the entire Pirates trilogy in less than 48 hours. We watch Bad Education starring Hugh Jackman on Chandler’s suggestion and the BFI movie of the week, Los Olvidados (1950), is a harrowing account of growing up in poverty in ‘50s Mexico City.

Chandler & Jacob share their thoughts on the Twin Peaks universe, review Twin Peaks Season 3: The Return, discuss their top 10 favorite moments and finally discuss the potential meaning behind the ending of The Return.
