We discuss two beautiful movies made across the world from each other that explore two very different time periods and places but may have a bit more in common than you might think: Roma (2018) and Yi Yi (2000).

Chandler & Jacob discuss how to use DVD covers as toilet paper, if you run out. They consult the internet about movies to watch while you’re sick and movies about isolation. Eventually, they discuss Charlie Chaplin’s misleadingly titled: The Gold Rush (1925).

In a particularly smashing episode of Split Take, Chandler & Jacob discuss two of the best movies they’ve ever seen, Portrait of a Lady on Fire and The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp. Come for the lesbian love story and stay for the ultimate British boomer movie.

A technical issue means we fast forward one episode, Jacob gets some new toys and movies, and Chandler figures out Twin Peaks: The Return with the help of the internet. Eventually we discuss a very old French short film.
