Season 2, Episode 7 is here, as William and guest co-host Courtney Christy (1:06) interview Emma Lambert, National Manager of Events at motionball! Emma talks about her journey through both university and college that led her to experiencing motionball events (12:48), key moments that spurred her to pursue a full-time role with motionball (20:18), and the unique partnership process that the organization took to get their Virtual Marathon of Sport televised on Sportsnet (24:57), which raised over ONE MILLON DOLLARS.
Although the Marathon of Sport was virtual, Emma touches on the importance of what the marathon meant to the athletes (34:42) in terms of interacting with people, and her favourite memory from her time at the organization (39:00). She also talks about the vast growth of motionball and the popularity it has recieved from coast to coast (39:48).
This is an amazing episode that highlights a great person and a great organization that is dedicated to supporting Special Olympics Athletes, and it heightens the importance of supporting the movement as well. Simple things such as social interactions go a long way for this group of individuals.
