I have some theories about the intentions of this show, and I would be interested to hear all your views about them as well. Do you think Otis was centered for the same reasons I do? Doesn't really matter either way, but I do really appreciate the diversity in cast and storytelling.
This is the episode where Eric goes on a spectacular date, only to come back and run into Adam. It's Maeve's birthday, which she celebrates by going to the police with Aimee to report an assault, and Otis gives her a gift that almost has her confessing her love right there in the hallway.

I had heard very mixed things about this movie, and I actually think that in the end that was a good thing. I wound up liking it more than I expected, especially once I began to settle on the theory that the writers of the show don't like Logan any better than I do, and MEANT for us to be annoyed by Veronica's choices.

This is the one in which Otis tries fingering Ola for the first time, and it DOES NOT GO WELL. Based on what he did to that poor orange, she's lucky to have escaped without tissue damage.
Meanwhile, Jean makes a presentation at his school, and despite making a good impression at the parent conference, she doesn't know what to say to an auditorium full of teenagers. It's rather painful.

In this section, we find out that the being who has been visiting Nita in her dreams is actually Darryl, which I guess I SHOULD have seen coming but totally didn't for some reason. She's able to communicate with him enough to get some information that she investigates further in her Manual, and we find out there's something very special about Darryl and his role in the fight against the Lone One.

The start of the second season is very strong so far, and I'm just getting hung up on the usual thing; I'm annoyed with Otis most of the time, and the stories tend to wrap up way too easily without a lot of acknowledgment of the trauma caused by the plot. That said, I'm excited to see where this season takes us, and I'm delighted that it looks like the Headmaster is going to be experiencing some pressure of his own this time.

So this season finale is a real wild example of some of the show's best ideas, because it comes right at the end of a pretty terrible, disconnected, and tone-deaf season. I spend the majority of this episode spinning out a fan-fiction of how Season 3 could have gone if the writers had capitalized on this concept from the beginning, which would have given all of our beloved characters more to do, and kept us more personally invested in the mysteries.

Alright, so I'm starting to get impatient with this season. I think that the first murder storyline is just so much more compelling because I actually like some of the people involved, while the Sandbrook storyline COULD have grabbed me if anyone but the victims had seemed remotely sympathetic. I really just want to focus entirely on Joe's court case, and the mystery of Sandbrook feels like an unwelcome interruption every time it comes up.
