I'm really beginning to get into where this is all going, and I was surprised by how affected I was by the fact that Lirael gets to see her mother again. Last time if I'm not mistaken, we see scenes of her mother's past, but I don't think she actually addresses Lirael, does she? Either way, her telling Lirael "I love you" was really something I needed.
And then we find out that Lirael and Nick have to go off together to one of the sites of Orannis's destruction, and I'm not here for this mess. At. All.

I'm so glad to see that Rebecca is having the same difficulty picking something devastating to do to Josh, because I still keep thinking about it and coming up with nothing. However, I'm NOT glad to see what she decides to do in the end, because to be honest it's the worst possible move and I'm so angry with her.
Also, she sleeps with Nathaniel in this episode, and I'm really not sure that I'm for this whole thing. I'm kinda hoping that it doesn't continue too much longer, but also I like his character and don't want him to leave? Gah.

This was one of those episodes where I'm not really sure what I feel because the issues we're dealing with on this show this season are so fraught. This episode revolves around Veronica getting hired by the frat to clear their names, and in the end she finds out that it most likely wasn't them...but the feminists are mad at her? For not, like, framing someone?
Meanwhile, there's a kind of heartbreaking thing going on with Logan as he discovers he's got a half brother he never knew about, but it's not the person he's been pouring out his family trauma to. Which is simply devastating. Jesus.

This was a really fascinating set of chapters, because we're getting to see the ways in which war influences the economy and research, which is something I'm so used to associating with WWII that I don't think about it as being a major factor before that era. I loved the way in which they're figuring out the garinafins, and I am eager to see how they implement that info.
However, there's a major other issue that I care about even more. THERA AND ZOMI SITTING IN A TREE K-I-S-S-I-N-G

This section of chapters is delightful because it mostly concerns a romance that I've grown very invested in. I just really like Nick and lot and I figure if he's picked one of the most badass women in recent history (his world's history) as his aim, he's got excellent taste and I like him even better. And I just want him to be fucking HAPPY for once. Fuck.
Also, there's a bit of a situation with Ferin, who almost ends up dead, but thankfully it turns out that Sabriel is on her way and she manages to save Ferin, but she can't save Ferin's foot.

I keep being surprised by how quickly these books move along, and I'm really here for the whole coup that Sturmhond executes. It was a total shock how abruptly everything went left, and I'm even more shocked at the fact that, by the end of this section, we've not only escaped from the Darkling (for now) but also gotten the second amplifier! Well that was fast!
But I will say that the one thing I'm super unhappy about is Mal. I don't know what his problem is, and I honestly don't really care. I thought he would be more supportive and it turns out that he's already kind of afraid of her, which like...really? Get over it, dude. Fuck.

It's been a while since I've covered the last episode of Veronica Mars and I had forgotten how we had no update on Weevil until now. Things seem to be going pretty badly and I'm hopeful that this new job he ends up with actually works out because I want stuff to be better for him? I'm weirdly invested in what happens to Weevil, okay?
Meanwhile, I'm starting to be done with Logan and I feel like Veronica should move on with her life. I don't really know what she sees in him at this point? However, I am sort of on board with her and the dean seeming to strike an understanding. I hope they work together in future.
