The Penguins lost a tough game against the Blue Jackets on Saturday night in Columbus but the good news is that they won the season series against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Now they turn their attention to the final back-to-back of the season as they continue their 4-game road trip following a (CBJ 4-3 PIT) shootout loss against the Blue Jackets on Saturday night.

The New York Rangers return to New York following a stunning (NYR 8-5 ARI) victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night in the desert and now they are looking for the season series sweep against the Pittsburgh Penguins after winning the last two meetings in Pittsburgh in shutout fashion (NYR 1-0 PIT) back in late November and (NYR 7-4 PIT) in late March.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are still trying to make a push for the playoffs sit in 6th place in the wild card race in the Eastern Conference and are tied with the Buffalo Sabres at 75 points apiece but that’s only because the Penguins were able to get a point in their loss to Columbus but they also received some help from the Toronto Maple Leafs (TOR 3-0 BUF) shutout win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.

Will the Rangers sweep the Penguins in the season series?

Will the Penguins lose the season series but get one game in the season series?

The Penguins saw the return to the win column in a big way on Tuesday night when they paid tribute to a former teammate in Jake Guentzel who made his return to Pittsburgh in the final game of the 4-game season series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Carolina Hurricanes as the Penguins would defeat Jake and the Hurricanes by a final score of (PIT 4-1 CAR) and in doing so they would even the season series against the Hurricanes and grab another huge 2-points as they try to rally in wins to make the playoffs this season.

Now they turn their attention to Columbus Jackets for the rest of the month of March as they will play two games against the Blue Jackets beginning in Pittsburgh on Thursday.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are going to have play hard to get even with the Penguins in this 4-game season series that ends on Saturday as the return to Pittsburgh on Thursday night after coming off a disappointing (ARI 6-2 CBJ) loss to the Arizona Coyotes in the desert on Tuesday night.

Last time these two teams met the Blue Jackets were once again defeated by the Penguins by the same final score they lost to the Penguins in Columbus back in late November and that same final score was the score in their matchup against the Penguins in Pittsburgh earlier this month when the Penguins defeated the Blue Jackets (PIT 5-3 CBJ).

Even though the Columbus Blue Jackets have the odds of making the playoffs this season not in their favour just like the Pittsburgh Penguins do.

You can bet that they will try everything in their power to get even with the Penguins in the season series.

The Colorado Avalanche began their 5-game home stand to wrap up the month of March with a bang by defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday in by a final score of (COL 6-1 CBJ) and now they will host the Pittsburgh Penguins as the home stand continues.

The Pittsburgh Penguins come to Denver Colorado for the only time this season since the two teams last met in Pittsburgh in late October where the Penguins defeated the Avalanche by a final score of (PIT 4-0 COL) in Pittsburgh.

The Penguins however have been struggling as of late to string together wins and with only 13 games left in the season they still are in position where they are fighting hard for a playoff spot but the odds are very slim. They come into this game coming off another disappointing loss to the Stars on Friday night in Dallas by a final score of (DAL 4-2 PIT) and with only Metro division foes and eastern conference foes left on their schedule well..

Let’s just say that this game is even more important than ever.

These two teams both took part in a little St. Patrick’s Day 2-day weekend in the motor city of Detroit when Ottawa took on Boston at Little Caesars Arena and it was Boston’s Hilary Knight who gave Boston the win in a shootout by a final score of (BOS 2-1 OTT) on Saturday.

Toronto was available to pick up a victory over Montréal of their own in Pittsburgh on Sunday (St. Patrick’s Day) when Montréal head coach Kori Cheveri returned to Pittsburgh and it was a good one. 

Toronto ultimately won the game, but not in shutout fashion as they defeated Montréal by a final score of (TOR 2-1 MON) in Pittsburgh.

It’s time for another “Battle of Ontario” and this time the site is TD place for an afternoon matinee between Ottawa and Toronto.

So far in the inaugural season, both Ottawa and Toronto have won one of the three meetings they have played, head to head this season and Toronto is looking to even the series after beating Ottawa last time these two teams met (TOR 5-2 OTT) at TD Place in early March after Ottawa won the last two meetings in January both as the home team and on the road. 

Toronto is on a winning streak, but.. 

Did that come to an end before they got to this game on Saturday against Ottawa? Toronto hosted Boston on Wednesday, so. Did Boston end the winning streak for Toronto before it hit 11 Straight wins?

Ottawa, meanwhile took on New York also on Wednesday but they were looking to bounce back from a shootout loss during PWHL takeover weekend when they face Boston in the motor city.

Did they get right after that game?

Will Ottawa take a commanding three to one lead in the season series between Ottawa and Toronto heading into their final meeting of the season in two months time?

Will Toronto get even with Ottawa before their final meeting?
