After a scary scene in Pittsburgh led to a 3-game suspension for Winnipeg Jets Defensemen Brenden Dillion without pay for an illegal check to the head on Pittsburgh Penguins forward Noel Acciari who suffered a concussion in the 2nd period of Tuesday night match in Pittsburgh.

The Winnipeg Jets are set to host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night down a with Pittsburgh down a Forward and Winnipeg down a Defensemen as Brenden Dillion serves the 2nd game of his 3-game suspension.

The Pittsburgh Penguins come into this game looking to bounce back after a disappointing but hard fought (MIN 3-2 PIT) loss to their former teammate Marc-Andre Fleury and the Minnesota Wild on a very special night for Marc-Andre Fleury and after defeating the Jets on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh where they lost Acciari but beat the Jets (PIT 3-0 WPG)

The Winnipeg Jets will look to get even with the Pittsburgh Penguins while at the same time they like the Penguins are coming off a loss of their own when they fell to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night by a final score of (PHI 4-1 WPG)

These two teams last met in Pittsburgh on the Monday before Christmas where the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Minnesota Wild by a final score of (MIN 3-4 PIT)

Now the Pittsburgh Penguins head to Minneapolis Minnesota to take on the Minnesota Wild coming off a scary (WPG 0-3 PIT) shutout victory over the Winnipeg Jets who they will face on Saturday night in Winnipeg.

The Minnesota Wild however return home for one night only before they hit the road again to take on the Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights next Monday night and then the Arizona Coyotes next Wednesday night and they do so coming off a win of their very own as they come home following a (MIN 2-1 CHI) victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night down in the Windy City.

So do the Minnesota Wild get even with the Pittsburgh Penguins by having an answer after so much time and two months have passed since they last played each other?

With the All-Star break in the rearview mirror it’s time to look ahead to the trade deadline, and these two teams are going to be looking to make a run at Lord Stanley, but the question is which one of them is going to do it and get off to a good start?

The Winnipeg Jets come to Pittsburgh coming off of (TOR 4-2 WPG) loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on the Saturday night before the All-Star break, but the day before that, they fell to the Maple leafs again this time in overtime, and in a hard, fought battle, they came up short, falling to the Maple, leafs by a final score of (TOR 1-0 WPG) on Wednesday night.

The Pittsburgh Penguins continue their three game homes Stand as they walk in the Winnipeg Jets before they turn their attention to the Winnipeg Jets on the road having come off yeah, another loss this one to the Panthers in a shootout by a final score of (FLA 3-2 PIT) and then defeating the Montréal Canadiens on Saturday by a final score in overtime of (PIT 3-2 MON) Saturday night before the All-Star game.

These two teams last played in January during the 2022, 2023 season where Winnipeg defeated the penguins by a final score of (WPG 4-1 PIT) on January, 13th, 2023.

It’s time for the second half of the season and with the All-Star break in the rearview mirror it’s back to playing hockey.

The Wildcard and Divisional Rounds this Football season decided who was moving on and within each round the Baltimore Ravens and the 49ers find themselves against their final round opponents of the NFL 2023 Playoffs in the Kanas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions so can the Ravens and 49ers contain their playoff run into the last teams standing or is it Chiefs and Lions Time to shine at Super bowl 58 in Las Vegas.

The last time the Penguins played the Canadiens was when they opened the season series against the Canadiens in Montréal on a Wednesday night in December in which the Penguins defeated the Canadiens in a shootout by a final score of (PIT 4-3 MON) and that was part of a Pittsburgh Penguins (Back-to-back).

Since then the Canadiens have lost a couple of games and won a few games including their (MON 4-3 NYI) home win over the Islanders on Thursday night in Montréal.

The Penguins have hit a losing streak of 3 straight games since their recent win over the Seattle Kraken on Monday, January, 15th, 2024 which was a shutout win over the Kraken in a final score of (PIT 3-0 SEA) and these losses include their most recent loss to the Florida Panthers on Friday night in Pittsburgh in a final score of (FLA 3-2 PIT) which ended in a shootout win for the Panthers over the Penguins and now the Penguins have to quickly turn their attention to the Canadiens and their last game of the 1st half of the season as they hit the All-Star Break and so with that said.

Will the Penguins get back in the win column before they hit the All-Star Break?

The All-Star break is coming up fast and the Penguins will be looking to end the first half of their 2023-2024 NHL 82 games season on a high notes after back-to-back losses to the defending Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights in Vegas last weekend by a final score of (VGK 3-2 PIT) and a (ARI 5-2 PIT) loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night in Arizona.

Meanwhile the Florida Panthers come to Pittsburgh after they hosted the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday night in Florida and also after coming off a (FLA 4-1 NSH) win over the Nashville Predators on Monday night.

These two teams last met in early December of 2023 when the Panthers defeated the Penguins on home ice by a final score of (FLA 3-1 PIT) on a Friday night in December in a very special night for a former Penguins player.

This season series with the Panthers and Penguins wraps up next month but before we get it also kick starts the final back-to-back for both of these two teams and their final back-to-back of their 1st half of the season before the break.

The Penguins lost that December game before the new year. So it's a new year and the Penguins are looking to get even with the Panthers at home and get some much needed points.
