It was a hit in last year’s podcast wrapped and so we thought we’d do it again this year and boy do we have a good one on tap for you this year. Last year we did a Penguins Post Game Winter Classic edition episode with a recap of the game between the Boston Bruins and the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston won the game.

This year we’re doing a game recap show of the 2024 NHL Winter Classic from Seattle as the Seattle Kraken and the Vegas Golden Knights take the great game of hockey outdoors for the first time in their franchise’s history.

The Pittsburgh Penguins return home following their 5th straight win since losing to the Anaheim Ducks on the eve of Halloween in Pittsburgh which was a 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets in Columbus also on Tuesday night. So will the Penguins winning streak continue or will it come to a halt against the New Jersey Devils? There is only going to be 67 games in this season to play after this one goes final. It’s a hockey night in Pittsburgh and it’s the Penguins versus the Devils coming up NEXT!

The Pittsburgh Penguins came into the final game of their 5th set of back-to-back games against the New York Islanders coming off a 4-2 win against the St. Louis Blues who were also on the back end of a back-to-back that began on Friday night and ended on Saturday night. The New York Islanders come to Pittsburgh looking for a bit of redemption from their last clash with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night in Elmont New York where they were defeated by the Penguins in a final score of 7-0 and they come into this game coming off a 5-1 win over the Washington Capitals on Friday night. So did the Islanders get their redemption on the final night of the 2023 year? For the final time in 2023 It’s A Hockey Night In Pittsburgh. The Buffalo Bills just keep on winning football games and last week before Christmas they had to win a “Thriller” of a close game that could have spelled Disaster for the Bills last week in Los Angeles against the Chargers and now the Bills turn their attention to the New England Patriots and the remainder of the season as they look to make a push for the playoffs even after everything they just went through in another HUGE 24-22 win over the Chargers and this win also eliminated the Chargers from the playoffs.

The end of 2023 is near and the Bills last met the Patriots in October at Gillette Stadium in Week 7 when the Patriots beat the Bills in a wild one and by a final score of 29-25.

So do the Bills answer that loss from a couple weeks ago?

Last time the Penguins and the blues met was back in October and the St. Louis Blues defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4 to 2 in St. Louis and with the new year practically here and the Penguins beginning their fifth set of back to back for 2023, 2024 season on the Saturday night in December.

We move from St. Louis to Pittsburgh where the penguins will play two games to finish off the 2023 year portion of the campaign for the 2023-2024 season and they’ll do so coming off scoring a touchdown in Elmont, New York on Wednesday night in Long Island against the Islanders, who they will play on New Year’s Eve.

The St. Louis Blues come to Pittsburgh, looking to sweep the Penguins in the season series despite winning the first game of the two meetings between the two teams back in October on home ice with a win in Pittsburgh in their only trip to the Burgh this year and they do so coming off a 2-1 win over the Dallas Stars on Wednesday evening that same night the penguins defeated the Islanders 7-0.

Will the Penguins answer and tie the season series with the blues with a win before they close out 2023 with a visit from the Islanders?

So two games that both ended 5-4 scores and one of which was decided in Overtime. Who’s going to get the first W of this season series between the New York Islanders and the Pittsburgh Penguins? The Los Angeles Chargers come into this game and even though they just might miss the playoffs this year. You can bet that they will not make this game any easier for the Bills despite coming in to this game after a disastrous game against the Las Vegas Raiders last week in Vegas on Thursday Night Football (T.N.F) by a final score of 63-21 which set a Raiders franchise scoring record.

The Penguins come into this game coming off a huge shootout 2-1 win over the Hurricanes in Pittsburgh on Thursday night and the last time these two teams met Ottawa came out on top and they defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 back in October earlier this season.
