Baseball is back, and new Cub Dansby Swanson said hello to Chicago in style, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored as the Cubs posted a 4-nothing win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field. Another new Cub, former Notre Dame standout Trey Mancini, also drove in a run. Marcus Stroman struck out 8 and gave up just three hits over six shutout innings.

In Houston, the White Sox were locked in a 1-all tie in the top of the 9th against the defending World Series champion Astros, when Andrew Vaughn came through with with a 2-run double. The Sox went on to a 3-to-2 win.

Notre Dame formally introduced Marcus Shrewsberry as its new men's basketball coach Thursday. Shrewsberry is an Indiana native, with previous coaching stops at IU-South Bend, Butler, and Purdue. He took Penn State to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a couple of weeks ago.

NCAA men's and women's Final Fours are on tap this weekend, starting with the women tonight at 6:30, the men Saturday night at 6, followed by championship games on Sunday and Monday, all here on Sports Radio 960 WSBT.

Hockey: the St. Louis Blues downed the Blackhawks in Chicago, 5-to-3. The Redwings posted a 3-to-2 win over Carolina in Detroit.
