Team Osan recognized several Airmen and Civilians for their outstanding performance throughout the year 2011 at the 51st Fighter Wing Annual Awards Banquet. 51st Fighter Wing Commander COL McKenzie and Acting Command Chief Master Sergeant McGwire presented awards to the winners of each category.

The United Servicemembers Organization or more popularly known as the USO recently celebrated their 71st birthday. The Osan USO invited everyone out to celebrate with them and served up chicken pot pie and cake. Airmen, Soldiers, and a few Civilians that volunteer showed up to take advantage of the opportunity and help celebrate with the USO.

Each month USO Osan and USO Camp Humphreys recognizes exceptional volunteers for their service. USO Osan’s volunteer of the month for February is the Bengson family for help with remote travel and local programs like Dine for a Dime. Camp Humphreys recognizes Craig Cameron who volunteers daily with all programs,admin and center tasks.

The African American Heritage Committee at Osan Air Base put together an 80’s and 90’s talent show in honor of African American History Month. The top three performers were awarded prizes and they also had a drawing for an Ipad. Once the competition was complete the night continued with an 80’s and 90’s themed after party.

The 304th Signal Battalion HHC hit the mark of 365 consecutive days without an alcohol related incident. To honor this rare achievement, Brigadier General Timothy J. Edens, and Command Sergeant Major Michael Eyer presented HHC with the 1 year "zero alcohol incidents" streamer in a ceremony in front of 304th Signal Battalion. HHC, continues to lead the way with outstanding professional conduct both on and off duty.

Team Osan Airmen reported for duty in the middle of the night after a base wide recall for exercise Beverly Midnight 12-01. During the exercise Osan Airmen will demonstrate their ability to operate in a chemical environment and administer self aid and buddy care while defending the base. 51st Security Forces members and augmentees set up base defense by lay down concertina wire around the base to set up a perimeter defense.

Firefighters from the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron work together to extinguish a fire started from a simulated C-130 plane crash at Osan Air Base during Operational Readiness Exercise Beverly Midnight 12-01. After putting out the fire Airman ensure safety and well being of injured personnel.
