A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, we all know the infamous line and there’s no way I could give it more justice than George Lucas has over the countless movies, series and creations he’s put his brainpower into. From the 70s to today, this franchise has maintained to captivate audiences from people my grandparents age to the little babes I see running around in their baby yoda sneakers. Today, we’re gonna focus on what it means to be a Jedi when all else is crumbling beneath them. A snake hiding in the tall grass that not even the wisest can sense. When love and attachment are the sins of the damned. When deception on all sides closes in. When the clones attack.

What would you in your personal life be willing to risk it all for? The big black when we all close our eyes at the end of our existence. Love, prospects, a job??? But mostly our will to live, the fight or flight behind our biological nature.Now, how hard will you fight when your life is coined to have less meaning than those that created you? When you yourself can’t see the difference without a glimmer in a dark room. How important is your life as a flame that burns twice as bright for half as long?

And the people did just that. They stripped the sea of her bounty as every bird fell from the sky. Yes, those who took and took until there was no more left to take. Until the land, the earth, was left with no other option than to remove the infestation from her existence, in tern, destroying herself. When there’s no other option because she feels so powerless in a situation she thought was going to be her peace and future.. How far must she go to secure her space, her home, her safety?

We’ve all been in a situation that make us feel a little too big for our britches. Coming in, truly confident, just to get beat down by different expectations. With the three amigos down on their luck from a studio that literally rips the clothes from their backs, what are they to do? Misleading information is what brought our stars to Santa poco, but will Steve Martin run from a brawl like some type of imposter? No he will not. This movie is the definition of fake it til u make it and u know what, those darn amigos might just make it.

Where did we come from? Where did we start?  From our ancient primate ancestors to our more closely related Neanderthals, human evolution has come a long way. But truly, what does it take for a species to evolve and what is the next step in our homosapien journey? Stanley Kubrick poses this question and many more in his most well known and only academy award winning movie, 2001: a space odyssey. Up to this point, learned traits are what got us here. Survival of the fittest. And, progression into the future isn’t always what we assume. We see our early chimp relatives discover the use of tools, but in a will of destruction  instead of creation. With this, Kubrick presents us with a question. If the first creature to use a tool was used for violence, what is next for us? This sets the tone for what is yet to come with our brain’s creation, HAL, and his desire to learn and advance. What will H.A.L. choose with total free will?
