Solomon addresses the question of why we should work in Ecclesiastes chapter four. Certainly we have wondered at times about the meaning behind our particular jobs or responsibilities. We will discover what God has to say about our labors in this world.

Life is a series of seasons and nowhere in literature is this stated more beautifully than in Ecclesiastes chapter three. We will study this passage and learn insights about how we can learn to accept and thrive in God's presence no matter what season we might be in.

We all like to have fun - but when pleasure becomes the focus of our lives, it will leave us empty. We see in chapter two of Ecclesiastes that Solomon experienced more pleasure in his life than most, but still found it meaningless. We will study the trivial pursuit of pleasure and be reminded of the one thing that will satisfy!

Chasing the wind is purposeless. But many times, even though we might know Jesus, we can find ourselves chasing the wind. We will begin a series on Ecclesiastes which is a profound book of the Bible that shares God's wisdom in how to approach this challenging life.

Tamar's story found in Genesis 38 is a very unusual story of broken promises, deception, prostitution...and well, a lot of sin! Since all of us struggle with sin, join us as we can learn from this sordid story how God works even through our sinful actions to further his purposes.

Bathsheba is probably the best known woman for her affair with King David as seen in 2 Samuel 11. This one sexual affair let to untold pain in both Bathsheba and David's lives, but God was able to meet them in their pain, forgive them, and make them a part of the lineage of the Messiah! We will learn from their sin and about God's grace extended to them.

Typically, women were not listed in Biblical genealogies. But in Jesus' family tree in Matthew 1, we see four women - three of which were involved in sexual sin and one who was a virgin. This weekend we will be looking at this family tree as a whole and how the message of God's grace is seen through it.

Tom Jensen, who was instrumental in help building the compassion ministries at Willow Creek, will be sharing his personal journey of God growing his heart of compassion over the years.
