Rahab was a prostitute, but God used her to help the people of Israel conquer the city of Jericho. Be with us this weekend as we learn how God can use us in our brokenness to do amazing things for Him!

Tamar's story found in Genesis 38 is a very unusual story of broken promises, deception, prostitution...and well, a lot of sin! Since all of us struggle with sin, join us as we can learn from this sordid story how God works even through our sinful actions to further his purposes.

Bathsheba is probably the best known woman for her affair with King David as seen in 2 Samuel 11. This one sexual affair let to untold pain in both Bathsheba and David's lives, but God was able to meet them in their pain, forgive them, and make them a part of the lineage of the Messiah! We will learn from their sin and about God's grace extended to them.

Typically, women were not listed in Biblical genealogies. But in Jesus' family tree in Matthew 1, we see four women - three of which were involved in sexual sin and one who was a virgin. This weekend we will be looking at this family tree as a whole and how the message of God's grace is seen through it.

Tom Jensen, who was instrumental in help building the compassion ministries at Willow Creek, will be sharing his personal journey of God growing his heart of compassion over the years. He will encourage us all to engage in the journey in a fresh way to show the love of Jesus Christ to our hurting world.

Hunger is an ever increasing problem in the US and around the world. Most of us take for granted three meals a day, but that is not the case for even many people in our own community. We will be studying the Bible to learn about what our responsibility is to be God's light in the lives of people who are undernourished.

Many in our society are losing hope as they struggle with the many challenges that they are experiencing. Hope is a precious commodity here on earth, but which God has in abundance for us to give the hopeless. We will study what Jesus teaches about ministering to the hopeless.

There are hurting people all around us. The question we need to ask as individuals and as a church family is how do we respond to people who are hurting? We will be studying the well-known parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10 to better understand how Jesus desires us to respond. Our desire at Springbrook is to be HeartStrong with Compassion for those in need.

In part two, we will talk about how we can use our love styles to understand one another and therefore love each other more richly through the love of Christ.

Everyone has a unique way of loving. We will be exploring four common love approaches - The Leader, The Optimist, The Validator and the Evaluator. Don't worry - it will make a lot more sense when we talk about it. We will discover principles which God can use to empower our love for each other.
