Hunger is an ever increasing problem in the US and around the world. Most of us take for granted three meals a day, but that is not the case for even many people in our own community. We will be studying the Bible to learn about what our responsibility is to be God's light in the lives of people who are undernourished.

Many in our society are losing hope as they struggle with the many challenges that they are experiencing. Hope is a precious commodity here on earth, but which God has in abundance for us to give the hopeless. We will study what Jesus teaches about ministering to the hopeless.

There are hurting people all around us. The question we need to ask as individuals and as a church family is how do we respond to people who are hurting? We will be studying the well-known parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10 to better understand how Jesus desires us to respond. Our desire at Springbrook is to be HeartStrong with Compassion for those in need.

In part two, we will talk about how we can use our love styles to understand one another and therefore love each other more richly through the love of Christ.

Everyone has a unique way of loving. We will be exploring four common love approaches - The Leader, The Optimist, The Validator and the Evaluator. Don't worry - it will make a lot more sense when we talk about it. We will discover principles which God can use to empower our love for each other.

Jesus Christ lived a life of letting go on this earth. He let go of his position in heaven and ultimately his life in order to die for us. In our relationships, we must allow Christ to empower us to let go of our rights, our hurts, our pride, our guilt and so much more. It's these things that poison our relationships. We will explore how letting go can give us true relational freedom.

We so easily set into comfortable plateaus in our relationships. We don't like to step out of our comfort zone. But God challenges us to step out of our comfort zone. Some people have a tough time communicating their feelings to their loved ones - like simply saying "I love you!" Others struggle in talking about the critical issues in their relationships and pretend that everything is okay, but it's not. We will learn the importance of letting Jesus Christ move us out of our comfort zones to create healthier communication.

Everyday we are bombarded with more things to do that we can ever actually accomplish. Many times when time is tight, we push relationships to the back burner and just do the minimum of what is expected. We need to call on the power of God to intentionally serve one another as God directs. We will discover how serving each other pleases God and builds strong bonds with others.

In a world of social media, the ironic thing is that people have fewer satisfying relationships than ever in their lives. When we are with the people that we care for - we are many times not totally engaged with them. Our culture has taught us that our time is too valuable to give all our attention to people. We will explore how God wants us to fully engage in relationships.

As we celebrate our sixteenth anniversary, we will be looking at how we will continue to fulfill our HeartStrong Vision. We are HeartStrong for loving God together, loving God one on one, loving our families and loving our community.
