  • Sprinklez: Episode 13: Battlestar Galactica (Hulu) ); Thimbleweed Park (Video game); Anastasia (Netflix); Peter Pan Honey Roasted Peanut Butter + Brookside Dark Chocolate Candies

Hey gang! Today's episode is a FAVORITES EPISODE!!!! Filled to the brim with some of my obsessions!

First off my all time favorite Sci-Fi tv series: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (HULU) !!! Which is full of intense plot lines, spectacular special effects and amazing actors/actresses!!!

Then I can't help myself in recommending a new video game which is available on all sort of phones, tablets and pc's called: THIMBLEWEED PARK (by the makers of the wildly popular 80's video game Maniac Mansion) where you try to solve a murder in the small and quirky town of Thimbleweed Park. It has a cursing clown (Don't worry, it's censored), plumber's dressed as pigeons, and enough puzzles to keep you guessing for hours. (PS it's set in 1987-what more could you ask for?)

I then recommend the 1997 Don Bluth cartoon musical, ANASTASIA (NETFLIX) starring non-other than Meg Ryan, John Cusack, Kelsey Grammar and Angela-Frickin-Lansbury!! Chock full of catchy tunes and incredible artwork!

Then lastly the Tasty-Treat-Sensation is an unbelievable combination of Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Brookside's Acai & Blueberry dark chocolate candies (Each sold separately) that will make you lose your mind-but just for a few minutes! Enjoy!!

    Tangents:

  • Sprinklez: Episode 12: Arrival (Prime; Hulu) ); The Returned (Netflix); Stranger Things (Netflix); Googoo Clusters

Hey Gang! This is the much anticipated Halloween episode of Sprinklez!!!

I let you in on a little secret when I try to convince you to watch the amazing film, ARRIVAL (Hulu, Amazon Prime) starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye of Xmen fame. I totally knew that, btw). Which is (dare I say it) endearing as it is spookily mysterious!

Then I let you in on an sacrette (which mean a second secret) which is the little known but magnificently beautiful yet creepy French show, THE RETURNED (Make sure to watch the 2012 edition not the A&E American version, both of which are on Netflix.

I cannot even begin to tell you how awesomely 80's Netflix's STRANGER THINGS is! All I can say is that it is a rad mix of all the radical elements of Goonies, E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, all rolled up into one wicked show!

Finally the Halloween Tasty-Treat-Sensation is the remarkably gooey and delicious Googoo Cluster!!

  • Sprinklez: Episode 11: Attack On Titan (Netflix,Hulu); Sword Art Online (Netflix,Hulu); Harlock: Space Pirate (Netflix); Pocky

Hey Gang! Today's episode is Anime themed episode!!! I talked about three of my favorite anime series and movie that are on streaming services.

I can't say enough about the sprawling epic, ATTACK ON TITAN (Season 1 on Netflix, Season 1 & 2 on Hulu). Set in a fantasy world where cities have humungous walls built around them to protect them from man eating giants!!! Its so suspenseful it verges on scary but the incredible plot twists and characters will keep you coming back for more!

I go on to rave about another adventure show, the oddly named but fascinating, SWORD ART ONLINE (Netflix,Hulu). About a virtual reality game that players unwittingly get tricked into playing, with real life consequences. Very original and fun!

Then I cannot wait to fill you in on one of the best Sci-Fi movies in the past ten years, HARLOCK SPACE PIRATE (Netflix).

Finally the Tasty-Treat-Sensation for this episode is the delicious Japanese treat, POCKY!!!!

  • Sprinklez: Episode 10: Man From Reno (Netflix ); Poirot (Netflix); This American Life: The Ghost of Bobby Dunbar (NPR; ThisAmericanLife.org); Smucker's Magic Shell

Howdy Gang! This is a MYSTERY themed episode of Sprinklez!

Today I share some of my favorite mysteries that you can watch/listen to on streaming platforms.

My first recommendation is the incredible 2014 film, MAN FROM RENO (Netflix). Set in and around San Francisco this mystery weaves together two seemingly disparate stories into a terrific modern mystery with the classic elements of a traditional film noir thriller.

Then I talk about one of the most famous fictional detectives of all time, Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot in the British television series, POIROT. Season 7-13 is now available on Netflix. I let you in on some of particular favorite episodes including; After the Funeral, Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, and Murder in Mesopotamia.

You are in for the entertainment recommendation of your life when I talk about the NPR radio show/podcast: THIS AMERICAN LIFE. (ThisAmericanLife.Org) which has consistently given the world one of the most creative and informative shows since its advent in 1995. It has both real life and fictional stories by some of the best journalists and authors of today (David Sedaris, David Rakoff, Sarah Vowell, etc). One of my favorite episodes in the This American Life cannon is the mysterious and true story, THE GHOST OF BOBBY DUNBAR (Ep.#352). It is enthralling suspense story!!!

This episode's mysterious Tasty-Treat-Sensation is Smucker's MAGIC SHELL! It's a liquid then it's a solid. I haven't had it since childhood but its chocolatey and mysterious so it's gotta be good!

    Tangents:

Murder on the Orient Express. 2017 to be released in American theaters November 10, 2017. Staring Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench, Michelle Pfeiffer, Penélope Cruz & Johnny Depp.

P.S.I. Luv U. (CBS, 1991). Starring Connie Sellecca (Hotel) and Greg Evigan (My Two Dads). SADLY this is not available on any streaming platform but you can catch the super-fun intro and some scenes from the show on YouTube!

Murder on the Orient Express.(1974) All Star Cast!: Starring Albert Finney, Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall, Sean Connery, Vanessa Redgrave, Anthony Perkins. Unfortunately not on any streaming platform. Available on DVD

Remington Steele: This 80s classic detective series starring Stephanie Zimbalist, Pierce Brosnan and the incredible Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond) is now on Hulu!!!

  • Sprinklez: Episode 9: Cranford (Amazon Prime); Manor House (Amazon Prime); Hershey's Chocolate Candy Bar

Hey Gang!! This is a special themed episode of Sprinklez! It's the PERIOD PIECE show!!

This episode is a Victorian/Edwardian bonanza, starting off with my recommendation of the delightfully charming 2007 British series: CRANFORD (Amazon Prime) starring Dame Judi Dench, Julia McKenzie, Julia Sawalha, Michael Gambon, Imelda Staunton, Jim Carter and scores of other amazing actors/actresses.

Then I fill you in on PBS's 2002 amazing and enthrallingly educational series MANOR HOUSE (Amazone Prime) which is full of Downton Abby type period drama with a reality show twist. A group of regular people live in a 1906 Manor House for three months living out the roles of either a privileged family or their dutiful servants. It s an Edwardian social experiment gone awry! Fabulous, fascinating and fun.

I conclude the episode with a 117 year old Tasty-Treat-Sensation: Hershey's Chocolate Candy Bar! It is still a delectable treat when combined with graham crackers and marshmallows in the form of a s'more!!! Enjoy!

Tangent recommendation: Lark Rise to Candleford, 2008 (Amazon Prime, Hulu)

  • Sprinklez: Episode 8: Wayward Pines (Fox, Hulu); Gravity Falls (Hulu); Chunky (Nestlé's delicious candy bar)

Hey Sprinklerz! Today's another "Favorites" episode of Sprinklez where I talk about two of my all-time-faves: Fox's WAYWARD PINES (Season 1 & 2 are on Hulu) and Disney's GRAVITY FALLS (Season 1 & 2 are on Hulu).

WAYWARD PINES is a fantastic and mysterious thriller set in the too-perfect town of Wayward Pines nestled in the forest of the American North West. Executive producer M. Night Shyamalan brings us a fast paced, plot twisting story pulled from the pages of the trilogy of books by author Blake Crouch entitled; Pines (2012); Wayward (2013); and The Last Town(2014). I rave on about the amazing cast and despite watching countless YouTube videos on the matter, I still totally mess up Siobhan Fallon Hogan's name (It's pronounced Shavon, who knew? Sadly, not me.) She is amazingly funny and endearing in this show.

Then I almost burst with excitement about Disney's GRAVITY FALLS which is cartoon-cuteness overload. Set again in the mysterious northwest it features a set of twins, Mabel and Dipper Pines as they arrive at their Grunkle Stan's house for the summer. His home doubles as a Mystery Shack which is a tourist trap full off oddities. The siblings find themselves solving one puzzling mystery after another while encountering the adorably-weird mythical creatures of the forest. Cannot say enough about this show!! Smart, funny, charming.

Last but not least I tell you why you need Nestlé's CHUNKY candy bar in your life!!!

    Tangents:

The Village (For rent or purchase on Amazon Prime Video) One of my Favorite M. Night Shyamalan
Bob's Burger (Netflix/Hulu) One of the best comedies ever!
Empire (Fox/Hulu) Fantastic modern soap opera with great music!
Duck Tales (For rent or purchase on Amazon Prime Video)
Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers (For rent or purchase on Amazon Prime Video)

  • Sprinklez: Episode 7: Ultimate Beastmaster (Netflix); So You Think You Can Dance (Fox/Hulu); Project Runway All Stars (Lifetime/Hulu); Louisville Cream's Pretzel Cones!!

Hey Gang!! Timmy V. here with the latest episode of Sprinklez!

Today's episode is near and dear to my heart as it's my Summer Guilty Pleasures show! Summer is my favorite time of year! It's a time for relaxing, eating ice cream treats and watching lighter shows on tv.

My first pick is the addictive obstacle competition called "ULTIMATE BEASTMASTER" which is a Netflix original series with contestants from six different countries compete for the title of, you guessed it: Ultimate Beastmaster!

Then I simply adore Fox's the long running dance competition show "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?" Which is chock full of incredible dancers, choreography and music to lift anyone's spirits.

I try to convince you that PROJECT RUNWAY ALL STARS is worthy of your summer tv show lists. It may be seen by many of you aa the red-headed step child of it's more popular older sister, Project Runway but it is just as entertaining and full of magnificent creativity and the typical drama you have come to expect with scissor wielding fashion designers!

Lastly, I reveal my latest Tasty-Treat-Sensation find: Pretzel Ice Cream cones!!!!!! Sadly I have only found it at a local Ice Cream shop here in Kentucky called Louisville Cream. They are unbelievably delectable!!!! (Hopefully you will find something similar in your locale)

  • Sprinklez: Episode 6: Bleak House (Amazon Prime/Hulu); The O.A. (Netflix); Hershey's Cookie Layer Crunch Mint

Hey Sprinklerz! I hope you are ready for a tangent filled ride of great recommendations!!! My friend Cicely sits in the co-host chair as we talk about one of our all time favorites shows; BLEAK HOUSE (Amazon Prime/Hulu) Which is a stunning 2005, eight part miniseries rendition of the Charles Dickens's novel of the same name. It is chock full of an amazing cast of characters played by a cadre of incredible actors/actresses (Including: Gillian Anderson, Carey Mulligan, Anna Maxwell, Charles Dance, Burn Gorman, Pauline Collins, Nathaniel Parker and on and on and on!) Intricate storylines with unpredictable plot twists will leave you breathless.

Then we try to convince you to watch the Netflix original, THE O.A. It is such a creative and original show but due to unique and at times complicated characters you may have a hard time getting into it but once you do you will love it! It's wonderfully mysterious and it will have you guessing the whole way through. Definitely unlike any other show anywhere.

And finally Cicely shares her tasty-treat-sensation which is Hershey's Cookie Layer Crunch Mint. It was so good she eat it on her way over and just brought the wrapper to remind her of the name, hahahahaha (Sad but true.)

In today's episode we could not help ourselves and end up talking about another three shows:

Inspector Lynley Mysteries (TV Series, 2001-2008): Based on the books by Elizabeth George,. This Murder Mystery series staring Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small is sadly not currently on any streaming service.

Pacific Rim. (2013 Movie) Monsters vs Robots fun! This lighthearted monster flick is not to be missed by those looking for a high-octane monster smashing adventure! Unfortunately it is not on any streaming service, but plays often on cable TV.

Ladies in Lavender (2005, Movie) Staring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith set in the 1930s, Dench and Smith play sisters who rescue a Polish Violinist who washes ashore and ends up changing their mundane lives. Enchanting and endearing. Not in streaming source but can be rented or bought on Amazon.

  • Sprinklez: Episode 5: Sense 8 (Netflix); American Crime (ABC, Netflix); Hostess pies!

Konichiwa Sprinklerz! In today's episode of Sprinklez I am in love with Netflix's "SENSE8" which is a surprisingly touching action show filled with an amazingly diverse cast of characters. Despite being an action show (which I tend not to like) it is heavy on the plot and has a basic simple message of love, acceptance and a spirit of "If we work together we can solve any problem we are faced with." Uplifting and exciting, I highly recommend it! Then I talk about the ABC show "AMERICAN CRIME" (Season 1, 2 & 3 On Netflix) which has an amazing cast. Each season there is a new crime and subsequent trial set in different parts of the country, but they use the same cast, so each season the actors are playing entirely new roles. Such an inventive idea and so fun to see them each in their new role. Please note it is a serious and heavy show tackling very real issues our culture is facing. Last but not least I talk about one of my favorite desserts of all time: Hostess Cherry Pies.

  • Sprinklez: Episode 4: Broadchurch (Netflix); Crashing (Netflix); White Castle: Dessert-On-A-Stick!

Today's episode is a "Favorites" episode based around one of my all time favorite mystery thriller television shows: BROADCHURCH, (Netflix, Season 1 & 2). Then I tie in my new favorite sitcom CRASHING (Netflix, Season 1), which is a laugh-out-loud yet super endearing British show on Netflix. Then I wrap up the show with a delectable tasty treat sensation from WHITE CASTLE RESTAURANTS: Dessert-on-a-stick which is a brownie covered in fudge! A BROWNIE COVERED IN FUDGE!! Need I say more? Probably not, but I do anyway. Enjoy!!!
