Join Ruth Soukup, a New York Times Best-Selling author, founder of Elite Blogging Academy, and host of the Do It Scared Podcast, as she shares her experiences and recommendations on the traditional and self-publishing routes in the publishing industry.

After being referred to an agent and investing in a book proposal, Ruth's blog exploded with popularity. While in the midst of pitching one book, she took the opportunity to write and self-publish "How to Blog for Profit" based on the repetitive questions she received. The book received incredible feedback, leading her to build Elite Blogging Academy to further support her audience in generating income from their blogs. By the time her traditionally published book was released, Ruth had already written and self-published another book.
While Ruth initially signed a contract for two books with her publisher, after fulfilling her obligations, she decided she would never choose the traditional publishing route again. Despite briefly revisiting traditional publishing later on, she now prefers self-publishing due to the control she has over her books and the ability to retain nearly 100% of her royalties.
