Jamie Hagiya joins us this week. Owner of Torrance CrossFit, NPGL competitor for the Phoenix Rise and apparent leadfoot, she talked with us about getting pulled over on the way to Arizona, the joys of turning 30 and the longevity of the Lexus. Jennyfer Roberts talked to us about the road to recovery after injury as an elite athlete. After being drafted by the Boston Iron, Jennyfer suffered a damaged achilles and had to begin the road to recovery. Luckily she’s used her experience to become a better athlete as well as an example of getting stronger AFTER a setback. We talk about the mental and emotional toll of injury, being a guinea pig for a new sport and why weightlifters get bent out of shape when you say “Oly”. We also talk about the curse of T-REX ARMS, being a senior athlete at 13 years old and Why there 100% does NOT need to be three HOBBIT movies!

This week we scored the founder of the AWF, the creator of the Attitude Nation, he who bangs barbells, Jon F%(&ING North. Jon was cool enough to give us some of his time in between training sessions to talk about the birth of the AWF and more importantly the birth of his son Lincoln (BABY BAR-BENDER IN THE HOUSE!).

Most controversially we talk out why society so quickly vilifies the use of steroids in pro sports while explaining away domestic abuse and violent crime, to the point that Fantasy Football websites now post “Indictment Reports” so that users can reset their lineups when a player gets arrested.

Oh, Derek also gets super angry and yells at the NFL for forcing him to respect TMZ for ten seconds.
