This episode features community events for the week of October 7th-13th. No guest this week but we've got some excellent salty locals coming. up. There are a couple of events you can't afford to miss. The first is the Krewe of St. Andrews "Taste of St. Andrews" Fall Seafood Festival which is being held Friday and Saturday at the marina pavilion. This is a fundraiser that will help the Krewe of St. Andrews stay involved in many community events in the area throughout the year. Krewe member Charles Segrest joins us this week to let us in on all the tasty details. The Salty Dog Mayor is turning 14! His birthday party will be this Sunday at the Taproom. Not only will this be a day of celebration but it will also be a day to listen to music by Denuvo and a chance for you to give back to the local animal rescues who work daily to help foster based animal rescues. September 08, 2021Bonus Episode: Happy Birthday Socks! Featuring The Salty Dog Mayor and Crystal Fordx=Did you know the major of St. Andrews is a Dog? And not just any dog! Every year the market at St. Andrews hosts a contest and fundraiser for the local animal rescues. Leading up to the event local pet parents can enter their dog in the contest to become the salty dog major of St. Andrews for a one-year term. Salty locals can cast their votes for the dog they'd like to see as the major for $1 per vote and the funds go to support the rescues. This year the winner is Socks, a senior chihuahua, and rat terrier mix. His mama Crystal ford is an animal rescue advocate and volunteer, and she is also is involved with the Historic St. Andrews Water Front Partnership community involvement community. This Sunday is Sock's 14th birthday at The Taproom from 12-4. Not only is this a celebration for our major but, it is also a fundraising event for several local animal rescues.
