A shepherd uses the tools at hand to ensure the sheep stay on the path.  As we read these ancient words, they help us to gain perspective on all that is happening in our lives, and to discern God’s voice from all the other voices that speak to us.

Who has time for rest? God's command doesn't leave room for this being an option. Instead, we are commanded to give 1/7 of or time to God and ourselves. By learning to rest, we learn to let go of our power and let God work – in our lives and in the world.
