The messages that young people hear are all about what they need – need to do, need to be.  But what if adults conveyed an essential message to them over and over – that God loves them and we love them.  Their lives change on this simple message.

Old Testament prophets explained God not just with their words, but with their lives.  Hosea’s life becomes a story, not just of a relationship, but of how God keeps loving God’s people.  When we wonder if giving and serving matters, this story of perseverance points us to a God who never gives up on us or the world.

Easter Sunday we declare “Jesus Is Alive.”  We often forget that Jesus shows up in the form of…us.  As an ambassador from God’s kingdom to earth, we’re made to do good works in the world, not just in the church.

Generosity feels like a stretch in every season of our lives.  When we decide to listen to God’s commands to be generous, we see that we are capable of more than we imagined, and that God shows us that he is generous as well.

When someone chooses to hold open the door and welcome people, it’s because something important is on the other side.  When we know what God has invited us into, we know we can give of ourselves to welcome others to what is inside.
