Earlier this month, Cristiana Pasça Palmer, a former Romanian environment minister, told staff at the secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), where she has been executive secretary since March 2017, she was “at a crossroads where I must accept that due to a mixture of factors increasingly affecting my health, I am unable to continue this journey and lead the CBD Secretariat on the road to the UN Biodiversity Conference in China”.

Apple CEO Tim Cook doesn’t shoot down the idea during a conference call on Wednesday and suggests that Apple is working on new ways to pay for iPhones on a monthly basis.

Defund Impeachment
— The smart move would be to stop funding the government until the Democrats end impeachment and get back to legislating. Republicans should make voting to fund the government a proxy vote to fund the Democrats’ impeachment of President Trump.
The president already seems to be on board. NBC News reported on October 23, 2019 that “With funding for federal operations set to expire Nov. 21, the political class here is beginning to plan for the possibility — or the likelihood, in the eyes of some — that President Donald Trump will shut down the government to try to turn public opinion against House Democrats and their push to impeach him.”

Florida Senate Finally Decides Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel's Fate
— On Wednesday, after hours of testimony and debate, the Florida Senate decided to permanently remove Israel. The vote was decided 25 to 15, mostly along party lines. According to the Sun Sentinel, Democrats generally favored reinstating Israel, while Republicans wanted him ousted. All five ouf the senators from Broward County voted to reinstate Israel despite Parkland family's wishes.
DNC Announces All-Female Moderators at Next Debate
— The Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced that its upcoming presidential primary debate will be moderated by an an all-female panel amid concerns over the event’s neutrality and sinking viewership.
The debate, which is being sponsored by The Washington Post and MSNBC in Georgia on Nov. 20, will be moderated by NBC News’s Andrea Mitchel and Kristen Welker, The Washington Post’s Ashley Parker, and MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.

City of Madison declares racism a public health crisis - WISC
— MADISON, Wis. - The city of Madison signed on to a statewide resolution declaring racism as a public health crisis Tuesday.
The move brings no additional programming or funding, but community leaders who run programs for youth of color and people of color in Madison say this is a good step for the city to take.
“I’m glad that someone is recognizing it as a health issue, because then maybe now we’ll take greater measures in addressing the issues.” said Alexander Gee Jr., the president and founder of the Nehemiah Center for Urban Leadership and Development.

— Lee Wachtstetter has been living on a cruise ship full-time since she turned 77. Better known as Mama Lee, the 89-year-old Wachtstetter has written a book about her experiences as a permanent cruise ship resident. In I May Be Homeless, But You Should See My Yacht, she explains that she was stuck in a big, empty house after her husband passed away. Instead of moving to a smaller home or assisted living facility, Wachtstetter decided to sell the house and start cruising full-time. She had been on 89 cruises with her husband when he was alive and loved the lifestyle.
Transgender Activist Jessica Yaniv Loses ‘Brazilian Wax’ Lawsuit in Canada
— A Canadian official ruled against Jessica Yaniv, the transgender Canadian plaintiff who had accused three women of unfair “discrimination” when they declined to give his testicles a “Brazilian wax” treatment.
But the official minimized the damage to Canada’s pro-transgender laws by suggesting that women may need to provide the sexually intimate service to male bodies if they have been trained for the task.

— A Democrat U.S. congresswoman involved in two simultaneous extramarital affairs with staff members is wading into legal and ethical issues.
According to RedState, Rep. Katie Hill of California, currently in the process of a divorce, was involved in a two-year “throuple” (as in love triangle) relationship involving her husband and her young female staffer. The congresswoman subsequently went on to have an extramarital affair with her former finance director after moving to Washington, D.C. in January.

— Then we have Times Square. This one isn’t an outburst by a perhaps-unbalanced private citizen, it is a premeditated assault by a member of the business establishment. A billboard in Times Square depicts President Trump being tied up by a woman whom I take to be a dominatrix. Or maybe she is just wearing the company’s clothes, it’s hard to say. (And the billboard just below appears to be anti-Trump, as well.)

Youth suicide rate increased 56% from 2007 to 2017 – Disrn
— The suicide rate of individuals ages 10 to 24 increased 56 percent between 2007 and 2017, the CDC revealed.
The rate of homicide deaths decreased by 23 percent from 2007 to 2014, but increased by 18 percent from 2014 to 2017.

Confirmed: Billy Porter Will Play the Fairy Godmother in Upcoming CINDERELLA Film
— BroadwayWorld recently reported on a rumor that Billy Porter would be joining the cast of the upcoming Cinderella film from Sony, starring Camila Cabello.
According to Deadline, Porter confirmed that he is joining the film in a Q&A Saturday evening at the New Yorker Festival. He will take on the role of the Fairy Godmother.
It was also recently rumored that Idina Menzel would be joining the cast as the evil stepmother.
The adaptation is described as a modern retelling of the classic story of Cinderella. It is directed and written by Kay Cannon, and will star Camila Cabello.
