— Couples may be better off living in a "traditional" household where women do all the housework if they want to stay together, according to a report from the Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Science.
Norwegian researchers were interested to see how married and cohabiting men and women divided housework and childcare throughout various life stages. They analyzed two separate studies involving nearly 20,000 men and women aged 18 to 79: the study of Life Course, Generation and Gender, and the study of the Norwegian Life Course, Ageing, and Generations. Participants respectively answered questions about the division of housework and childcare; their attitudes toward gender equality; as well as other variables like life stage and social class.

Daughter of man in ’72 Biden crash seeks apology from widowed Senator | News | newarkpostonline.com
— Newark resident Pamela Hamill wants a public apology from vice presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.), who she says has repeatedly besmirched her late father, Curtis C. Dunn.
Dunn was the tractor-trailer driver involved in the December 1972 accident that took the life of the newly-elected U.S. Senator’s first wife, Neilia, and 13-month-old daughter, Naomi.
Dunn died in 1999, but his daughter says she’s fed up with Biden publicly mischaracterizing him as having been drunk when the accident occurred.
According to Delaware Superior Court Judge Jerome O. Herlihy, who oversaw the police investigation 36 years ago as chief prosecutor, there is no evidence supporting Biden’s claim.
GM strike deal reached that could end 31-day strike - CNN
— New York (CNN Business)Negotiators from General Motors and the United Auto Workers union have reached a tentative deal to end a 31-day strike by nearly 50,000 workers.
Details of the agreement were not immediately available. The deal was confirmed by Terry Dittes, the UAW's chief negotiator with GM.

Inside Austin's $18 million tiny home village for the homeless - Business Insider
— On the east side of Austin, Texas, 180 formerly homeless residents live in 200-square-foot tiny homes at Community First Village.
They pay rent that averages about $300 a month, go to work thanks to on-site employment opportunities, and feed off of a 2-acre farm.
The village is the brainchild of founder Alan Graham, who spent years serving the city's homeless before pooling $18 million in privately-donated funds to construct Community First in 2015.
It's not the first tiny home village used to house homeless populations in the US, but it is still unique in its concept.
As the name implies, the project takes a community-first — a spinoff of the housing-first term— approach to create a sense of community amongst residents.
