In Andrew Kober's Twitter bio, he describes himself as a Blue Collar Broadway Actor, and that description totally fits! You've seen Andrew consistently working in shows like: Hair, Beautiful, Les Miserables, and School of Rock. Andrew is currently gearing up to open Unmasked: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber at Papermill Playhouse. Andrew and I came into musical theater at a similar time so we had tons of fun chatting about our favorite mega-musicals and what it's like to be the one coming out of the stage door instead of the other way around.

If you follow Alexandra SIlber on social media, you know that she is an absolute delight! Fun, open, warm, someone you could totally see being friends with. She is that, but she's also more than that. She is an actress and the author of After Anatevka and White Hot Grief Parade. Most recently, Alexandra was seen in Cabaret at the Olney and in Einstein's Dreams Off-Broadway. In this episode, Alexandra and I chat about her characters, her online presence, and why she calls the Stage Door Act III.

Seeing the Schitt's Creek Live Show inspired a surprising amount of introspection on my relationship to being a fan. I also chat with my friend Lindsay about the magic of Schitt's Creek, Dan Levy's irresistibility, and our hopes and predictions for season 6. Schitt's Creek spoilers abound, but honestly, if you haven't watched the show yet, what are you waiting for?

One of the main reasons I started this podcast was to explore what the stage door means to me and why it's so important. Today, I dig into my theories on what draws the crowds to the barricade night after night.

George Salazar's commitment to his fans started at the stage door of The Drowsy Chaperone and Norbert Leo Butz. Since then, George has been as dedicated to the stage door as he is to his performances. As Michael Mell in Be More Chill, George's song "Michael in the Bathroom" connected with the show's young fanbase and cemented his place in the Broadway fandom. Listen to the episode to find out more about Norbert Leo Butz's impact, and hear from George for the first time about what it was like to close Be More Chill and say good bye to Michael and those fans at that Stage Door.

Have you ever wandered through the theater district and wondered about the people who had wandered those streets before you, maybe 100 years ago? If you have (or if you are now), you NEED to know about Broadway Up Close and Tim Dolan. Broadway Up Close offers walking tours of the theater district (and downtown, if you're curious about Hamilton: Am American Musical... and who isn't?). They also have their very own home in Times Square with their new kiosk. I always love chatting with Tim about Broadway--what's new and exciting, and also history that I never even thought I needed to know, but I really do.

Last Thursday, I saw The Prom and it was wonderful. Before the show, I met up with Josh Franklin, an ensemble member in the show and a composer in his own right. We chatted about his time with The Prom as well as his concert coming up this Sunday, August 18. After the show, I chatted with my friend, TJ Berardo, who happened to be at The Prom the same night I was. He provides the fan perspective, since my plans to stage door were thwarted by that pesky Metro North schedule.

Loved catching up with my old friend Steven Jamail: composer, music director, arranger, and supervisor extraordinaire. Working with Steven at Rosie's Theater Kids, I learned a ton about what it actually takes to go from writing a melody on a page to having it sounds like it does on the stage. Steven is also a true theater lover and it was great to hear from him about the people that make him star-struck.
