  • The Gift of Being Human in a Dehumanising World—Teshuva

Creative Service—To be fully human is to live connected to God, each other and ourselves. But in a culture of fear, performace and comparison, how do we find our way back? Teshuva isn’t a theory; it’s a physical turning around. A return. What is He calling you to return to today?

  • The Gift of Being Human in a Dehumanising World—Limits

Christy McHugh—Our to-do lists, whether just in our heads, written on paper or typed into a device point to the ever increasing demands and expectations of what it looks like to be human. And yet, the reality that most of us hardly ever complete the to-do lists, let alone come away feeling a deep sense of satisfaction that we smashed being a human today is also very common. As we consider together, what it means to be human - we can not ignore the fact that we have limitations - our unfinished to-do lists are a prime example of this. How we engage with these limitations though, has lasting effects on us as individuals and as humanity as a whole.

If we see our God given limitations as boundaries to push against, or limits to be rejected - we lean into hurry, we over extend ourselves, we attempt to control and we grasp for certainty. Each one of these dehumanises and erodes our ability to live and flourish.

However, if we see our God given limitations as something to be embraced - we instead honour and value rest, embracing the seasons of life, recognising our vulnerability and cultivating both lament and gratitude.

We are only human, this is how we have been created. As we explore our God designed, pre-fall human limits, my hope is that we learn not only to simply accept our limits, but celebrate them for the gift that they are.

  • The Gift of Being Human in a Dehumanising World—The Trinity

Sarah Hudson–True humanity is not found in progress, control or autonomy but in participation in the rich, vibrant and relational life of the Triune God.
The Trinity is not marginal - it is the central reality of not just Christian faith but the ultimate reference point to all reality. The Trinity is a beautiful mystery and truth - it is not explicitly mentioned as the Trinity, but is found everywhere. From Genesis to the gospels into the epistles, we see the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in perfect communion as the three beings of God.

  • The Gift of Being Human in a Dehumanising World—Imago Dei

Matt Romano—What does it actually mean to be human? In a world that measures your worth by your output, defines you by your productivity, and quietly shapes you into something more efficient than alive, it might be the most urgent question of our time.In this first message, we go back to Genesis 1 and the ancient truth that every human being, not just the powerful, not just the successful, is made in the image of God. We explore what that meant in the ancient world, what it demands of us in the modern one, and what it looks like to actually live it out in the texture of an ordinary week. For anyone tired of being measured by what they produce. For anyone who feels the creeping sense that life is full but something essential is missing. For anyone who suspects that they were made for something deeper than the pace at which they are living at.Your worth was settled before your first achievement. Your identity was given before your first success. Your worth is found in the Imago Dei

  • Fathering a Generation

Maurice Benington–We are image bearers and as such we represent Our Father. We can only take others where we ourselves have already gone.

  • One Generation

Matt Romano–Faith was never meant to exist in isolation, it was always meant to be passed down from one generation to the next. In this message, we explore the generational themes found in the Book of Judges and what happens when faith is no longer intentionally shared.

When memory fades, identity weakens. When identity weakens, values begin to shift. Over time, leadership falters and society fragments. What begins as generational silence slowly becomes spiritual drift. But it doesn’t have to end that way.

This message calls us to intentionally invest in others, share our stories of God’s faithfulness, and build something that will outlive us. Because what we normalise today is what someone else will inherit tomorrow.

  • The Resurrection

Nartarsha Wisewould–Join us as we joyfully celebrate the Resurrection and Baptisms.
The resurrection of Jesus was the launch of God’s new creation, where forgiveness is just the beginning. Through His resurrection, Jesus becomes the first of a new kind of humanity. Believers are not just saved from sin but invited to participate in God’s ongoing work of putting the world right.

  • The Passion_Preparation + Purification - Eyes to See

Christy McHugh–As we head towards the end of our series, we are celebrating Palm Sunday. This is the beginning of the Passion week, Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Our hope for this series has been to set a stage to understand in greater depth, the message of the cross and the hope of the resurrection. Luke 19 crafts a dramatic picture, Jesus riding a colt, into a charged atmosphere of Passover in Jerusalem. For the crowds watching, are they imagining a political coup détate? Will Jesus, who they shout out as King, overthrow the Romans?

In the midst of this symbolic event - Luke highlights Jesus weeping, an audible wailing, signifying a depth of grief. Then, instead of overthrowing the Roman rule - Jesus heads to the temple. The expectation of what Jesus's triumphant entry would symbolise for the Jew's of that day was of a conquering hero, defeating Rome. Yet, what they got was a grief stricken King who challenged the Spiritual authority.

Jesus came to establish a Kingdom, but what happens when it doesn’t look the way we want it to? Will we turn like the crowds who on one day, shouted 'hosanna', and then shifted to 'crucify' him in a matter of days? Or, will we respond with a simple prayer: Lord open my eyes to see what you are doing?
