  • Headlines: Choose This Day
On this edition of SUFTT - Headlines, Tim and Mary talk about all the ways and means put before us to make choices. Hopefully godly ones, and choices that can make for our peace - or steal it outright. And watching the news generally brings only one of those to fruition every hour of every day. People can of course choose to tune it all out, but then there is the danger of not knowing what or how to choose according to a proper worldview, and understanding more about what NOT to do. It's complicated in a way, but finding that balance between knowing and not knowing is often very difficult and can steal our joy and energy. Today we look at the idea of free will and why some say that humans are so depraved they can't choose anything having to do with eternity. We look at the religion of the day: tolerance. And the end game, which is the more the culture becomes tolerant, the more they marginalize Christians who appear to be INtolerant but in reality only point up the intolerance of the culture. We look at the increasing inroads of Islam and the ignition point of Europe today: France. A full hour of headline - choices.

  • Ray Moore: The Promise of Jonadab
Mary welcomes back homeschooling pioneer Ray Moore to talk about the importance of each "everyman" who desires to lead his family and leave a lasting legacy of uncompromising devotion to Christ. Retired Lt. Colonel and Chaplain in the US Army, Ray Moore has served for over forty years in pastoral ministry as a campus pastor, a congregational minister, an Army Chaplain or Director of a Christian ministry. Ray is co-founder of Frontline Ministries, Inc., and currently serves as the President of the Board. Exodus Mandate is a project of Frontline Ministries, which focuses on prayer, revival and Christian education. Ray is one of the Executive Producers of the 2011 award-winning film, IndoctriNation: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America. Today we are going to talk about his book, The Promise of Jonadab by Ray and his wife Gail. Jonadab, found in 2 Kings 10 and Jeremiah 35 is a minor OT character but one who lives on as an example of passing the torch of faith to subsequent generations, leaving a godly legacy for all to observe and understand. • Replay – Heidi & Dave: What I Thought I Knew… and What I Know Now
Originally aired 7/7/25 - Stand Up For The Truth with host Dave Wager, featuring a heartfelt conversation with longtime friend and guest, Heidi. Heidi shares her journey of faith that began as a young camper at Silver Birch Ranch, where she first trusted Christ—and how that same faith is carrying her now through a cancer diagnosis. With honesty and warmth, she and Dave reflect on God's provision in the midst of trials, drawing from Psalm 119:71: “My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.” This episode offers an encouraging reminder that even in hardship, God is not absent—He is teaching, refining, and holding us steady.
Listeners will hear personal stories of how Heidi and her family are walking through treatment with peace and purpose. From the faithfulness of God in hospital rooms to the small acts of love from her children at home, her testimony points to a deeper truth: suffering doesn’t define us—God does. If you’ve ever wondered how to trust God when life takes a hard turn, this conversation will meet you where you are and gently lift your eyes to the One who never lets go. • Russ Miller: Star Light, Star Bright
Mary welcomes back Creationist Russ Miller to explore the area of apologetics most attacked by secularists. Because, if there is no young earth, no flood, no instantaneous creation of the heavens, then death ruled before Adam and Eve fell; it also undermines the simple gospel. The fact that the church continues to increasingly accept the Old Earth (millions and millions of years) theory of creation tells us that some pretty basic Genesis facts are being ignored and/or rejected. Of course, Peter in 2 Peter tells us that they "willingly forget" various creation details and that pesky flood, which also stands for the judgment of a sinful world. We talk about the continents, star light and time, and rock strata. Russ is one of those very knowledgeable creationists who truly can defend the faith in a sound, biblical manner.

  • Chris Quintana: Extinction-Level Optimism
Mary welcomes back Chris Quintana to talk about the end of the world as we know it - and how does that make us feel? Well, anxious, exhausted, irritable, pushed to our limit. Where have all the optimists gone? Do they even exist philosophically these days? But wait, there's more! If we do feel fine, it can only mean one thing: that we are walking with Jesus and realize He is in control. Outside of that, it's quite possible we are living our most anxious life now and it manifests itself in many ways. Now that the church is not teaching prophecy, or the Bible even, really, what other triggers await? Evil men and seducers, and ravenous wolves make even going to church discouraging. This ought not to be because gathering together as we see the day approaching is not a suggestion from Paul. Taking communion in memory of Him until He returns is a crucial practice as well. We talk about anxiety, what it is, and how to squash it on today's edition of SUFTT.

  • Headlines: Dog Days News Roundup
With the "dog days" of Summer upon us, and the Europeans still clueless as to what true Summer heat is like in the south, we bring post-Independence Day headlines. In this uniquely lazy time of year, finding connected headlines is very difficult so we have a real smorgasbord of information. Yet we can always find a way to point to God's faithfulness and His soon return. Today we have a few thoughts on the 4th in hindsight, namely a thoughtful piece from Ken Ham about how we can sing "God Bless America" but refuse to follow Him and His commands.  Then we look at some of the perils of the upcoming primary and election season, as the uber-radical left attempts to swing our nation so far left it might end up at the fascist right. We also look at the perils of allegory in Bible interpretation, and a new experimental vaccine that might just be the vaxx-to-end-all-vaxxes, which tells us one thing in particular: it was never about a virus, always about a vaxx. A full hour of slightly disjointed but interesting headlines for the Summer of '26.

  • Mary Danielsen: When We Wrestle
On today's edition of SUFTT, Mary takes a look at Psalm 73 as a much-needed answer to the wrestling we all do in the face of a world gone awry. Levite, prophet and worship leader Asaph, author of a dozen Psalms, takes us on a tour through his heart and mind over the seeming success of the rich and famous of his time. We wonder at times what he all struggled with, since we have all the knowledge of good and evil at our fingertips through global media. Nevertheless, he certainly had his share of wrestlings when it came to being distracted by those who had it all, and gave no thought to their own eternity. Why do people who know they will die at some point seem to not even care how it all ends? Asaph knew that God is good, and He has a covenant with Israel - but he still had lots of deep questions for His Maker. But has God ever taken away those who vex us with instant relief? No, the rich and carefree have been with us always, it is US who change after being with our God, in His house. A great lesson for us all who struggle with cultural issues and how to respond in our hearts with a life of contentment.

  • Jim Fletcher: Gradually, Then Suddenly
Mary welcomes back Israel expert Jim Fletcher to talk about the winds of change that have blown through the world by looking at a couple of statistics: the 50th commemoration of Entebbe, and the 1000th day of the current war that Israel has bravely fought on multiple fronts. God is surely good to Israel, we see that in hindsight and it flavors our Bible reading time. And He will continue to be, which also flavors our Bible reading time. But not everyone in the church, let alone the world, believes this. We also look at what is happening in New York and beyond, as the democrat party as we know it allows themselves to be bullied by hard-core Communists, or Islamunists, as one pundit put it. Things have been eroding since Mamdani (shockingly) got elected, and now their ideology, plus a generous side order of antisemitism, is being pushed west and legitimized through the ballot box. It's amazing how quickly things can go from threatening to destabilizing, but here we are in the Summer of '26.

  • Headlines: Storm Front – Weather, Worldviews and Winds of Change
Tim and Mary confront this news cycle head on as life on earth heats up - ideologically and meterologically. Here in America we expect Summer heat waves and act accordingly. Over across The Pond, not only do they seem to be in denial about the seasons, but they refuse to accommodate and prepare their citizens, leading to shocking loss of life. Why, you ask, in this day and age, would nations forego simple environmental controls? Well, if your citizens have bought the climate change lies, they might say they are willing to sacrifice now to save the planet later. In other words, thank you grandma for giving up your air conditioning AND your life so we can have cool weather later, said no offspring ever. As bizarre as that narrative is, this is how they think over in France. And that global warming really is the fault of Americans who air condition everywhere for a few weeks a year.  You can't make this stuff up, really. We also talk about supply chains, the Islamic incursion into the Midwest, and of course the Islamunists who are conquering America one election at a time. Lest we think the changes are slow and easy, today's podcast throws all that out the window. Which is open to stay cool.

  • Mike Spaulding: “Red” Flags – Mamdanistan and American Myopathy
On today's edition of SUFTT, Mary welcomes back Pastor Mike Spaulding of Calvary Chapel in Lima, Ohio. We take on the very current issue of the Marxist march across America to claim our nation for the Democratic Socialists of America. When Mamdani was elected as mayor of New York, the rest of us weren't exactly sure if he was the first Asian mayor, the first Muslim mayor, or the first Marxist Mayor. Be that as it may, when it comes to categories, he checks them all and isn't stopping there with his influence of US politics. We look at the recent march to install his political clones across the fruited plain, and how the shortsightedness of NY voters doesn't stop at the boundaries of NY. We make the case that antisemitism is actually deeply embedded in the dem platform moving forward. We also look at the SAVE America Act: is it really just about providing ID to vote? Unlikely. Other topics: the UN Pandemic Treaty and the Iran MOU, and with all the words expended on these topics in the media, which ones will stick? Does Trump know what he is doing or is he the shortsighted (myopic) one in all this? In the run-up to our 250th, this is a conversation we need to have. Welcome to Mamdanistan?
