Geoff Taylor is an Advanced Care Paramedic, and after 27 years of service, he’s hung up his stethoscope. He’s a friend and colleague of mine. We talk about how he got started, how he copes with the stress and trauma that come with the job, and the lessons he’s learned along the way. It was an honor to talk with him after his last ambulance shift, and I hope you enjoy it.

Russ has been a realtor for over 17 years, serving Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. He co-owns The Macnabs Realtor Corporation and is affiliated with Keller Williams. He has hosted real estate seminars throughout Greater Victoria, the Lower Mainland, and the Fraser Valley, and is a multiple-time MLS Medallion Club winner, recognizing the top realtors in the Lower Mainland.
In this episode, we talk about how Russ got into the real estate business, family, the things he’s learned along the way, and some of the nastiest things he’s ever seen in people’s homes.
Russ is also my realtor—and the reason I was able to get my house back in 2014. So this conversation is a little personal for me, and it was great to finally sit down and have a good chinwag with him.

Welcome to STAND UP! This is a mental health, resilience, and personal growth podcast from Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. This show is about stress management, mental wellness, burnout recovery,…
Listen to real-life stories about resilience, mental health, and overcoming life’s challenges while learning practical ways to stay positive, cope with stress, and help others in your community.
In each episode, I interview professionals and community leaders from Greater Vancouver and across British Columbia who specialize in their field. They share inspiring stories, expert insights, and real-life experiences about mental health, self-improvement, resilience, and community leadership.
As the host of the podcast, I bring a unique perspective after nearly twenty years working as a frontline paramedic, where I’ve seen firsthand the importance of first responder mental health, stress management, and supporting others through difficult times.
This is a family-run podcast. My children and I create our own “Wayne’s World”-style commercials that are silly and fun. Each episode features a captivating conversation and an indie music track at the end of the show.
Come take a listen — it’s like sitting with a friend in a coffee shop on a sunny afternoon, talking about life, challenges, and ways we can make the world a little better.
If you have an idea about how to improve life in your community, or know someone with an inspiring story about mental health, resilience, or helping others, reach out to me on Facebook.
Enjoy the show. ☺️🇨🇦
