Now "family man" Tyler Copley joins the show to talk life. We get into a wealth of topics including a rough night leaving Norms restaurant back in the day. I talk about what I've learned having paid for the car behind me in every drive-thru experience I've had for the last 9 months, and my current attempt to entice others to do the same. We discuss the responsibility of creating a healthy environment for a child as a parent and why it's so vital. I bring up my tendency to judge others while volunteering at a recent food drive and a few observations from a recent bachelor party weekend I attended. Life is RAD.
I invited my good friend Steven Murphy on the show to catch up and talk about some observations I've had in my own life. I go off on a rant regarding my first time seeing a bellator cage fight and the drama that ensued. We discuss the idea of personal integrity and how to keep it. We compare other more "peaceful" states to California and I indulge on my thoughts towards masks and vaccine mandates. Steven brings up the value of time in financial investments, and why it's so crucial to invest early in life. That, and so much more! Life is RAD.
Art Cervantes joins the show to discuss the complete experience of owning a restaurant. (Cervantes Mexican Kitchen) He tells the story of how he started his restaurant and what he's striving for currently. We get into the difficulties of having a restaurant during a pandemic, dealing with neighboring riots, and the rewards as well. Life is RAD. Be sure to check out Cervantes Mexican Kitchen and get 10% off your order when you mention "Standing Still" until the end of September 2021. I've known Stefan Hefner for many years and have always seen him as a such a creative individual. We sit down together and walk through his life and compare a life of practicality vs creativity. We talk about the music he's currently producing, his time as a pro scooter athlete, some mistakes he's made in the past, and so much more. Thanks Stefan! Life is RAD. Be sure to check out his music on all streaming services and platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
Episode 77 has an anonymous friend of mine join the show to discuss her side hustle of "dating" wealthy men. We discuss a few of her experiences, what she's noticed these men all have in common, and why they would resort to an app/website for companionship. We get into what I've learned from recent coffee dates of my own and talk about the idea of a balance of money earned vs drama gained. Life is RAD.
On March 13th, I was involved in a motorcycle accident that has genuinely changed my life. I invited two friends, Jeff and Will, to recap the 4 months I've spent away from the podcast. I get into the crash itself, my change in perspective, interesting challenges I've dealt with, and plenty of funny stories throughout. Taking the time off had me nervous upon coming back, but this show reminded me just how fun podcasting really is. Thanks everyone!
After a motorcycle crash and 4 months later, Standing Still is BACK! This show was recorded on Friday March 12th, which was the night before the motorcycle accident that changed my life. I sit down with Will and Jeff to tell funny stories about my (then) recent trip to Texas and discuss what I'd been struggling with in life at that point and the toxic nature of depression. Oh, and after about 10 years, I come clean to Will about something involving his ex-girlfriend. New episode every Monday! Jeff and Will, thanks boys. Life is RAD!
Episode #74 has just you and I with a glass of whiskey. I tell stories, some recent and some not, and give a glimpse into what I'm currently struggling with. Ex-girlfriend shenanigans, feeling "rowdy" in Huntington Beach, a few individuals that inspire me, and quite a bit more. I strive to be genuine on this show, and to finish this episode, I believe I succeeded. Life is RAD.
On this episode of The Standing Still Podcast, I discuss a recent mentally challenging day I personally experienced. I run through every step of that particular Thursday and articulate the negative, and toxic, mentality I chose to equip myself with. I open up about tactics I use in my personal life to combat the "bad days" life can sometimes throw my way. I get into what I believe defines "success" and reflect back to learn and reposition myself to keep moving forward. I ponder and speak on just how blessed I really am. Relationships, opportunities, positive outlook, LIFE IS RAD.
When Big John and I had a great conversation on episode #68 regarding his life and the black community and culture in general, we ultimately ran out of time. This episode is the continuation of that conversation to further discover the value of giving back to your community, and why the "program" 2nd Call is such a key example to so many. Anthony Fagan joins the show as well to discuss his inspiring rise to success and set yet another great example beside BIG John with the perspective of a younger generation. We dive deep into developing the proper life skills that will propel you to success, and why those skills can often times be absent in some communities. BIG John, Anthony, thanks boys.
