This Is My Story of Panic
It all started one night while I was alone in our tiny two bedroom townhouse. My wife had just had brain surgery and was suffering with a seizure disorder and short-term memory loss. My father had just passed away and I was in the midst of building a successful business.
I will never forget that initial feeling. It started with clammy hands and quickly led to a light head. All of a sudden I started getting short of breath and my heart started pounding.
I had no clue what was going on or what was happening with my body. It scared the living daylights out of me. So, I did the only thing I knew would help…
I went out to smoke a cigarette.
That might sound crazy, but in that time period of my life smoking was my crutch. I am blessed to say that I have not smoked in almost 7 years, but at that time I needed it.
After lighting up I quickly realized that the cigarette was not helping the matter. Not only was I lightheaded, but the room was spinning, I couldn’t breathe ,and it felt like I was having a heart attack.
That is when I called 911.
