Star Wars 7x7: A Daily Bite-Sized Dose of Star Wars Joy

In this bonus episode of the podcast, I'm talking about the details of the Star Wars Resistance announcement; what other stories have taken place in the six-year existence of the Resistance before The Force Awakens; and add to the announcement by flagging a few writers of the series that weren't listed in the news release on StarWars.com. Punch it!

Next up on our countdown ranking of the deleted scenes from The Last Jedi (in terms of their importance to the overall story), we've got #10 and #9 on tap for you. One of them features a joke that could have spoiled an otherwise very dramatic moment, and the other could have completed a "Rule of 3" situation. Punch it!

Today, we continue our series ranking the deleted scenes from The Last Jedi home video release, in terms of their importance to the story of The Last Jedi. In 11th and 12th place we find scenes with Finn and Rose - not because we have anything against them or their plot line in the movie, but rather because it doesn't tell us anything more, or unexpected. Punch it!

In the last of our deep dives into The Last Jedi novelization, we investigate what happened to all of Luke's "stuff" after he died. What was there, and what did the Caretakers do with it? We also find out how Luke was rather unique in the eyes of the Caretakers (unlike his "rude" "niece"), the effort Luke put into pulling off that last stunt, and - possibly the most beautiful and heart-breaking thing of all - the voice Luke may or may not have heard in his head, just as he was about to pass into the Force. Punch it!

General Hux and Kylo Ren. Rey and Kylo Ren. Rey and Finn. Rey and Poe. Finn and Poe. All sorts of fans are rooting for all sorts of possible relationship combinations. (Except Threepio - no one's suggesting anything for him, the poor droid.) Does The Last Jedi novelization give us any more insight into who might wind up hooking up with whom? Not especially. Punch it!

General Hux is ready to push him to the sidelines. Rey doesn't believe in their shared future. Leia's kissed him goodbye, and Luke realizes the guilt about his part in this whole catastrophe engine was misplaced. On today's episode of the podcast, we near the end of our coverage of the new and notable from The Last Jedi novelization... Punch it!

In The Last Jedi, Luke makes a dramatic entrance on Crait. But how did Leia, Poe, Finn, Rose, Rey, and even General Hux react to the arrival of this legendary Jedi Knight? The Lat Jedi novelization has the answers, some of which may be surprising. Like the "how the First Order's stormtroopers could be the legacy of the Jedi" kind of surprising. Punch it!

What was the actual objective of the Resistance in their frontal assault on the First Order? What famous flying group did Leia and Poe reference in their speeches to the pilots about to fly those rickety ski speeders into battle? And why did Kylo Ren decide to keep General Hux with him during the battle, even though Ren didn't really want Hux to have anything to do with the battle? The answers to those questions and more on today's podcast, and our latest dive into The Last Jedi novelization. Punch it!
