It's one of the most popular and recognizable sound effects in motion picture history, but the film that originated the Wilhelm Scream is disturbingly entrenched in deeply offensive colonialist fiction! And sadly, that's a literary tradition that films like STAR WARS and INDIANA JONES have, directly and indirectly, been inspired by.
