The root chakra is the 1st chakra, it is located at the base of the spine, near the tailbone. It is usually depicted as a red lotus flower with 4 petals and is associated with the Earth element, grounding, and the planet Mercury.
The root chakra is located at your Perineum, It is associated with the adrenal glands, the base of your spine, legs, feet, bone marrow, rectum, kidneys, and immune system.
The mental and emotional issues it works with are physical, family and group safety, security and survival, ability to provide life's necessities, ability to stand up for one's self, feeling a sense of belonging, social and family law and order.
