After a too-long break, Status Pending is back! First: Leroy R. Piper, 36, an Ohio guest at the long-gone Fountain Hotel in the Lower Geyser Basin. On July 30, 1900, he eats dinner, buys a cigar, steps into the night… and is never seen again.

And as a bonus case, we jump to 1974: Larry Marvin Morris, a 24-year-old college student working in Riverton, Wyoming, vanishes while planning a quick Yellowstone detour on his way back to Oklahoma.

In this episode of Status: Pending, we travel to rural Wells, Vermont, where a tragic 2008 shooting left a mother dead and her teenage son accused of pulling the trigger. At just 14 years old, Christian Taylor became the youngest person in decades to be charged with murder in Vermont.

This case is still listed with the Vermont State Police as an unsolved homicide. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit.

In April 1987, 4-year-old Marlena Danyele Childress vanished from her front yard in Union City, Tennessee. What began as a frantic search turned into one of the most baffling and disturbing missing child cases in state history.
