Black women stay saving the world! This week, Toni and Alexis discuss the elections and the pivotal role Black women played in organizing, shifting political landscapes, and electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They start the show discussing Stacey Abrams, Fair Fight, and the work of Georgia’s organizers and the ways colorism and fatphobia impacted her vye for the VP ticket. Alexis and Toni shared some of their coping mechanisms and what got them through the week and identity politics because people are still questioning Kamala’s Blackness. Like really? Toni and Alexis amplify importance of showing up for Black trans women in our fight for liberation and also celebrate and critique Senator Kamala’s Harris’ nomination for Vice President.
