Our destination is Western North Carolina and the world-famous Davidson River with competition angler, author, and fly designer, Kevin Howell, owner of Davidson River Outfitters. Nestled in the Pisgah National Forest, the Davidson is known for great public access, beautiful scenery, and large, weary trout requiring light tippets and an ultra-stealthy approach.

Kevin has been guiding these waters for 40 years, has been featured on Trout Unlimited Television and Fly Fishing America, won fly fishing competitions, and authored or co-authored 5 books on fly fishing and fly tying. Kevin gives an overview of the Davidson, his top fly patterns, and shares some great stories of corn liquor runners, fishing with his dad, and trout so big his clients run for cover.
