Today we look into the future of food with Stefanie Goldberg, founder of Funny Girl Bread, a new custom baking business in New York City. Stefanie makes challah—the puffy braided bread that’s so important in Jewish daily life—for special occasions, from weddings to Broadway plays to bake sales. Her Instagram feed features her glossy, braided loaves and baking puns, as humor is part of her brand.

Stefanie talks with host Abena Anim-Somuah about growing up in a Jewish home where food and celebrations went hand in hand, choosing to leave performing arts for a food studies degree at NYU, why challah means so much to her, and the importance of taking up space.
