Newport Police Lt Charles Rataj is in studio after last week's Winter Carnival. Charles got to lead the parade for the WC with incoming Chief Brent Wilmont. We talked about an uptick of domestic abuse these past couple weeks in Newport, who will call to report domestic abuse, and how both men and women can be abused. We talked about what phone number to call to report a tip, cop shopping, IRS scams, and more.

After a great Newport Winter Carnival weekend, PJ and I recap last week's events, talk about the successes, how much fun the music trivia night was, the struggle with the ice rink, the parade, and a ton more. It was a great Winter Carnival, kudos to the town of Newport.

Jeana Newbern from Lake Sunapee VNA & Hospice is in studio one week after their annual meeting.  As the VNA is celebrating their 50th year servicing the community, Jeana quizzes me and talks about some important and interesting numbers regarding the VNA.

Claremont Police Chief Mark Chase is in studio with his Deputy Chief (and future Newport Police Chief) were in studio discussing the pedestrian struck in January who eventually succumbed to her injuries this past week, the Claremont PD working on a grant that will work with Newport PD, TLC, DHMC, and others for youth trauma response, the importance of this to our community, and what steps need to be in place to move forward.  We also discussed the upcoming comfort dog coming to Claremont PD. 

Ray Gagnon is in on Presidents Day. We talk US Presidents, random history & facts, Washington's Birthday Vs Presidents Day and more. With the NH Primary last week, we get Ray's take on the election, how NH did, Bill Gardener's success, where all the campaigns are going from here, Bloomberg jumping into the race late & spending a ton of cash, how history will look at President Trump and lots more.

Jaqui Baker from the Greater Sullivan County Public Health Network was in studio talking about the Vaping Unveiled event at New London Hospital recently.  We discussed the dangers of vaping, what is in them, what parents should look for and lots more.  We discussed addiction, nicotine, the GSCPHN, upcoming events and more.

County Manager of Sullivan County - Derek Ferland - is in studio talking about the progress with the Sober Housing Project.  We discuss where the project is, what the County is looking for, community discussion and more.  Derek unveiled the new Sullivan County Facebook page and we talked social media & how the County will use it.  The Nursing Home project was also discussed, if counties should be in the nursing home business, and what legally do counties have to do in regards to elderly.
