Don Hill from the Springfield NH 250th committee is in studio talking about the two year long celebration for the town of Springfield. Don tells us that each month there is something new and exciting. This month is the pulled pork dinner, next month is the antique appraisals, and so on. Dawn Ranney (United Way Of Sullivan County) & Sullivan County's Sheriff John Simonds are in studio together talking about their latest partnership. United Way and the Sheriff's Department are teaming up on February 23rd to host two food drives at the same time at Shaws in Newport and Hanaford in Claremont. this is their "stuff a cruiser" campaign, with all the non-perishable food to be donated to the Claremont Soup Kitchen. Both Dawn and John talk about the staggering statistics of those in need in Sullivan County, and how much the Claremont Soup Kitchen help out. We also talk about their last partnership "Beards United" and how they raised money for United Way by growing beards.

Lake Sunapee VNA's Jeana Newbern & Mary Lambert are in studio talking about positions open with the VNA, what qualifications are required, the benefits of working for LSVNA and lots more. We look ahead to their annual meeting next month and they prepare to unpack all the data from their community assessment survey from this past Autumn.

Newport's 102nd Winter Carnival is the topic of the day with PJ Lovely and the Rec Dept and the Newport Chamber put on this huge 4 day event, Newport's biggest annual tradition.  We talk about all the activities that people can attend, some of the history, how the weather is affects things, and lots more.  It's a great time to be in Newport.

Now Dori is home for a little bit after spending the past half a year teaching in China. A former teacher at Stevens for 10 years, Dori decided it was time for a new chapter in life and moved to China to teach. She talks about the differences in education, students and culture.
