Steven Radelet renowned expert on international development and global poverty, and is a Distinguished Professor of Development at Georgetown University. He has been working in developing countries for 30 years since he started as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Samoa in the 1980s. He lived in Indonesia for several years, and West Africa for several more. He has also held senior positions in the US Treasury and State Department. Along with his work at Georgetown, he serves as an economic adviser to the President of Liberia.
