Despite no evidence of widespread election fraud and a constant stream of legal rulings affirming voting rights, far right extremists aren’t giving up trying to make voting more difficult in Wisconsin. There’s the Waukesha County judge who just ordered the Wisconsin Elections Commission to check the citizenship status of the millions of people on the voter registration rolls — a massive undertaking with no clear method, much less any evidence of its necessity. There are some Republican legislators circulating another bill that would again ban absentee ballot drop boxes, which have shown no security concerns. And now Sen. Ron Johnson cries out against being investigated for his contributions intended to undermine the 2020 election results. What does it say about a party that is so afraid of election outcomes that it will stop at nothing to put up roadblocks to voting? We’ll also review last night’s big NLDS win over the Cubs.
