Have you ever done everything right in a day and still ended up feeling off by the end of it?
This week I'm talking about a day that made no sense to me, nothing went wrong, I got through everything on my list. Cleaning, errands, a walk with my dog, dinner with a friend, and by evening there was a 50 kg weight pressing on my chest.
We're taught that feeling okay comes down to a checklist, sleep, movement, food, time with the people who matter, but the checklist only tracks what you did, not what you took in. A screen, a headline, ten minutes of scrolling between two things you had planned, that's not included and sometimes we cannot avoid it, and your body can respond to it the same way it would respond to something that happened to you directly.
Spinoza wrote about this, feelings follow their own logic, and you cannot argue yourself out of one, only confront it it with something stronger/logical than the feeling itself.
I shared what happened to me that day, and how a feeling that started with something I saw on my feed turned into a much bigger decision by the time evening came around.
What's a day that checked every box on your list, and still left you feeling like something was wrong?
Enjoy,
Hila
