Hailing from a small town close to the rope tows of 2 of Minnesota's finest shred destinations, Benny holds it down for the mid west! Hosting event's like Red Bull's Heavy Metal puts the spot light on the mid west shred scene and thank's to Red Bull really doing it right that spot light makes the mid west look really really good. And yes Benny does shred in these events and yes he has been known to lock down some first place trophy's. Benny also has long riding relationships with powerhouse brands like Capita and Volcom who have booth featured him in Video projects and he is also a founding member of everybody's shred crew The Dustbox. I will link a couple of these movies incase you want too check them out. I will also link the special video projects that Benny has worked with Redbull on. Redbull only collabs with a handful of riders from each sport to make yearly video projects and young Benny is stoked to be on this short list. During any given season you can catch Benny shredding in all the major street contests as well as working to film a video part out in the streets and this year also filming in the Wasatch mountain's of Utah building kickers with his crew. Enjoy the episode and be sure to hit up Benny at his Instagram if you have any questions for him or even just want to say whats up!!!
*** I realize you can't hear Reid's Guest Question but it's too late to fix it. He ask's us about our Finland Trip together and to talk about our haunted Air B and B!!!***

I sat down with Nate a couple years ago and we did a full interview about his origin story and career. You can check this out in Episode 84 of The Bomb Hole Podcast. This episode is not a full interview, instead its a check in with Nate to see what he has been up to since we last talked on air. If you did not catch our first interview and do not know who Nate Bozung is or do not know about he went from being the unofficial 9th member of the forum crew when he was just a young shredder coming out of Alpine Utah. Or how he started a company called Neff with a good friend that led to a hostile buy out putting over 2 million dollars in his hands. The next year plus gets a little blurry as Nate’s life went from zero to 60 in the snap of his fingers as his bank account went from overdrafts and bank fee’s to more money then him or anyone in his tight circle had ever seen. World travel, fake friends, houses, guns, alcohol, drugs, living in a hotel in NYC, LA, Australia, Russians, Greece, South America, personal bindles for everyone, thousands given as tips…. As the stories came out telling of his antics a true legend was born.
What goes up must come down and it did fast and furiously. We all remember seeing the news as a standoff with the police in kimbal Junction was playing out to us. Oh wait is that Nate on the Newsss!!! It was. Thankfully thats all behind him and ended up being very different then the news first portrayed it but it brought the spot light back to Nate and next the info came out that he has spent it all. Something like 2.3 Million spent in shortly over a year. Check out his first interview as he gets into lots of this.
Nate and I sat down and caught up as two friends do when they have not seen each other in a while. He looks amazing as always with his Cowboy Shiek look!! Nate fills me in on things like… not seeing another human after a breakdown for 4 months, surviving off of ramen noodles sent via amazon, making millions, spending millions, riding ton’s of pow, breaking down right where you need to be, making a private ski resort, cutting runs with a chain saw, shredding new run that he made, life in the sticks, picked up for work in a snow cat, making clothing, Bozung Sun Glasses and so much more. It was amazing to see Nate and I hope you enjoy this as much as I did when recording it!!

In High School Young Marco would walk the hall's with a chip on his shoulder. He learned fast you had to look out for number 1 and that was it. Everyone had their own agenda, there was no real reason to say much to others as he walked the halls as the other people had nothing to offer him nor did he have anything say to them in the first place. Inner city life in Denver did not have much to offer kids like him except the lead role in a gang of skateboarder veto's. Each member would eventually get a gun and eventually be in prison. This was a very real path Marco could have went down with a very real reality for him and he was not nieve to this fact.
Thank fully a friend of his approached him and complemented him on his stake board skills saying he is good enough to get sponsored. No one had ever lifted Marco up like this. It was something new and built up a new found confidence. His friend was a Filmer and eventually introduced Marc to snowboarding. He had never seen anything like this. He didn't know anything like this existed and fell in love with snowboarding, he quickly used it as a vehicle to change his surroundings, not only spending more time out of his old city life that would for sure lead to hard times and prison he was now spending his time in the mountains surrounded by rich white skiers "dressed like goobers". He was now getting a full taste of Mountain living, People going out the way to help one another . People seemed to genully care about one another, Marc fully believes his friend Kelly who introduced this to him and gave him the confidence to push himself in the sport was guided by a spiritual hand put in his life for the simple act of steering him away from the bad scene waiting in Denver.
Listen as Marco tell's his story as he goes from inner city life to becoming one of the largest pro's in his time with a unique style that many will argue is the best style our sport has ever seen. Marco showed all kids growing up in cities far from the mountains that it is ossible to break the cycle and change their surroundings and also get up into the mountains and try snowboarding. They did not have to dress like a ski racer they could wear baggie gear and have that same flavor Marco had. Marco opened doors and introduced our sport and culture to other's that were just like Marco, kids that figured the sport was not for them as they had never seen someone like them do it. Until now. Until MFM!!!

Join in on the conversation as it starts with MFM AKA Marc Frank Montoya talking about shooting snowboarding in Alaska. The conversation continue's on with us discussing plan's for the MFM interview. Marco did not want some 6 hour interview that was just to hard to digest but he had lots to share with the snowboard community. Not just his story as a pro but also his story beyond snowboarding for a living and preparing for what would be next. So join us as we plan out what we will do with MFM on the Stonie's Buds Show. If you have been living in a cave for the last 15 years and don't know who MFM is then take this as an opportunity to be enlightened. MFM was the best thing to happen to snowboarding well, since snowboarding. Hahah, as Marc used to always say Forlido as in For real Though... just sit back and enjoy!!!!

For anyone immersed in skateboarding during the late 1970s, Tom "Wally" Inouye remains an indelible figure. Among his numerous magazine covers, his three iconic Skateboarder covers stand out as hallmarks of his influence. Born in Los Angeles on January 22, 1959, Wally's journey into skateboarding began in 1967 when he repurposed his sister's roller skate wheels into a makeshift board. In '73, Wally earned the nickname "Wally" after inventing the wall ride, a revolutionary move that would shape the sport.
In '76, Wally turned pro and signed with Sims, dominating magazine coverage unlike any other at the time. He even pulled off back-to-back Skateboarder covers in '77, cementing his place in skateboarding history. Wally ingeniously launched Inouye's pool service in '76 a clever ploy to gain access to backyard pools for skate purposes! By posing as a legitimate pool service, Wally and his friends could drain the pools, skate, and then refill them without arousing suspicion. This also inadvertently provided Wally with valuable intel on prime skate spots.
Wally's passion for sideways sports extends to snowboarding, which he embraced early on after forming a solid friendship with his sponsor Tom Sims. Wally was even lucky enough to test out the first snowboards made by Tom Sims! Wally instantly fell in love with snowboarding after Tom opened his eyes to this new sport that turned his local mountains into giant skateparks and the best thing was snow was so much softer than concrete.
In 2019, Wally's contributions were recognized with induction into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame. His pioneering spirit helped shape both skateboarding and snowboarding into the vibrant lifestyles and sports they are today. Sit back and immerse yourself in the stories of this true legend, whose influence continues to resonate throughout the skateboarding and snowboarding communities.

With Snurfing being invented just 40 miles from his childhood home in the Midwest and having access to an abandoned ski hill down the road from his house its not surprising Chris Engelsman known as E-Tree in snowboarding circles fell in love with snowboarding and would feel the pull of the west coast as he became of age to make his own moves. It started with trying to find a good collage but of course a good collage that is in a ski town and this leads you to Colorado. It's a path that is laid out for so many shredders that grow up east of what Chris calls the east coast of the west, Colorado. Chris hit up that collage and showed up with the best intentions but of course it did not take long for him to realize where his true path lead. It lead right to a 11 year career as a pro rider with trick inventions, amazing video parts as well as pro model gear and very importantly he changed the lives of any snowboard that stands 6 feet or taller, as a pro standing some inches over 6 feet he was always walking around with high water pants and a jacket that would pull up to his nipples every time he went to spin. He put together new cuts made to fit the tall snowboarder and the rest is history. So anyone over 6 feet hit him up and say thanks!!! After his pro career Chris went on to become the publisher of snowboarder magazine helping to put out some of the fat issues that we all hear about back when print media was king. Today Chris rides more than most people thanks to his proximity to the resorts in Utah as well as the desire to snowboard for life. E-Tree is a lifer and we are stoked to have him in the community. Sit back and enjoy the E-Tree episode on The Stonie's Buds Podcast recorded at the Boarding House Podcast Studio located in SLC, UT.
If you have time to leave a comment after you listen to the episode please do!! It helps out a ton!!

As a pro snowboarder Chris locked down amazing video parts with Kingpin Productions, F.O.D.T and Absinthe Films. His early parts showcased him ripping urban terrain and large jumps but once Absinthe helped get him to new terrain in places like Haines his eye's were opened to a whole new type of riding and once he rode these huge mountains there was no turning back. His love for the back country eclipsed his pro career as he got on a split board producing a blog series all the time honing in his safety skill's and snow science knowledge. He took this knowledge and made good use of it becoming a back country guide for help op's as well as snowmobile ops. He now shreds year round between sledding in Colorado and Heli time in USA and South America. Chris sit's down and tell's us not only about his pro career but also all about his current job as a Guide and what it take's to become a guide as well as gives us a glimpse into his life and the life of guides as well as share some very personal stories of loss which can come hand in hand with the job unfortunately. Thanks to his hard work and dedication as well as other like him we can all have the opportunity to shred some next level terrain knowing our life is in the best hand's possible!! We are also blessed to get a drop in from one of our favorite human's Shane Charlebois as he joins in on the conversation!
Sit down relax and enjoy what I think is the best interview yet to go down in The Boarding House Pod Cast Studio!

Some of you might not have heard of this next guest while others grew up drooling over your TV watching his snowboard Movies. Eddie lived in SLC for a nice chunk of years putting out really sick snowboard movies, each season pushing himself to out do the last until the season he moved east where he actually produced 2 movies in one season. A couple months ago I was going down the rabbit hole on the gram, Doom scrolling as Eddie call's it. I came access his account and was blown way by his photos. I always thought his movies were sick but damn, these were next level. I had heard he packed up and moved east and then I also heard he was flourishing in the big city of NYC. He did something that really intrigued me, He had everything set up in SLC in the snowboard world but decided he needed more and wanted to prove to himself he could be an artist. He moved out to NYC a city that will chew you up and spit you back out and then eat you again. But the city did not eat Eddie. By the time Covid crushed many people's dreams Eddie had not only concurred and made a name for himself in NYC but also had started making a foot print in LA. Eddie is an Artist and the proof is in his work. Join me and meet Eddie Gram and learn how he made moves to follow his passion and was not scared to take risks. He is about to take another one as he has set foot in a new arena and moved to Tokyo! Meet Eddie one of Stonie's Buds!!!
