• Why Mindset Matters: The way you approach online dating shapes your experience. If you go in thinking it’s a waste of time, guess what? That’s exactly what it will be.
• Internal Preparation Before You Sign Up: Before diving in, take time to reflect on your expectations and intentions. Ask yourself:
• What do I hope to get out of online dating?
• What kind of relationship am I looking for?
• Who do I believe is actually out there for me?
• How much time and energy am I willing to commit to the process?
• Shifting from Expectations to Intentions: Expectations can set you up for frustration, but intentions keep you in control. Instead of thinking, “I better meet someone immediately,” shift to “I intend to have fun and be open to meeting great people.”
• Handling the Emotional Rollercoaster: Acknowledge the emotions that come up—fear, frustration, even resentment from past relationships—so they don’t control your experience.
• Taking Practical Action: Once you’ve done the internal work, set yourself up for success with a structured approach:
• Schedule specific time slots for being on the apps (e.g., three times a week for 30 minutes).
• Approach it with curiosity and openness, rather than pressure and expectation.
• Recognize that quality connections take time, but a consistent and intentional approach will get you there.

Online dating doesn’t have to be a frustrating time-suck—it can actually be an empowering way to meet someone amazing. But it all starts with your mindset and approach. By getting clear on your intentions, managing expectations, and taking consistent action, you can make online dating work for you instead of against you. If you're a single woman over 40 and ready to meet Mr. Right, you're in the right place! This is Part 2 of my 3-part series on the best ways to meet him this year—not five years from now, not in some vague future, but now. Today, we’re diving into social and singles events, a strategy that I know works.

I get a lot of pushback when I bring this up, and I totally get it—I had the same doubts before I met my husband. Maybe you’ve thought:

• “There are no events for my age.” (Translation: I feel too old.)
• “There won’t be enough men there.” (And if there are, we’ll all be fighting over them.)
• “These events are just awkward and lame.” (Speed dating with a lock-and-key gimmick? No thanks.)

Sound familiar? If so, let’s flip that mindset. Because the truth is, these events work when you approach them the right way.

Instead of seeing these events as doomed before they start, I want you to adopt this perspective:

• Every event you attend is a step in the right direction. It’s about taking action, not obsessing over the outcome.
• You’re showing the universe you’re serious. The more intentional you are, the more opportunities you create.
• Your energy is powerful. Just by putting yourself out there, you’re opening doors you didn’t even know existed.

Dating can bring up a rollercoaster of emotions—frustration, resentment, disappointment. I’ve been there. That’s why I recommend having a daily emotional check-in. Here are some journal prompts to help:

• What am I feeling about dating today?
• What do I believe is possible for me when it comes to love?
• How can I make dating more fun and lighthearted?
• How am I supporting myself in this process?

If you can’t find the right event, create one! Here are some ideas: Start a singles book club, hiking group, or coffee meetup. (Your local library or community center can help.) Host a dinner party where everyone brings a single friend. Organize a singles improv night. (One of the most fun events I ever attended!) Find singles-specific events on Meetup.

The key? Be intentional and stay open. Even if an event doesn’t lead directly to Mr. Right, the energy you put into the process will lead you closer to him—sometimes in the most unexpected ways.

I’m sharing the final part of my three-part series on the Let Love In framework. This is the exact process that transformed my love life from “hot mess express” to happily married in my 40s—and it’s the same framework I’ve been teaching as a dating coach for over 15 years.

In this episode, we’re diving into the third and final part: "In"—Trusting in Your Heart and Connecting to Your True Self.

When you’re disconnected from your true self, it’s easy to fall into unhealthy patterns—chasing unavailable partners, ignoring red flags, or trusting others over your own intuition. But when you’re deeply connected to your true self, everything changes. You recognize what you truly want, trust your intuition, and naturally attract the love you deserve.

I shared stories of two clients who experienced this transformation:

Client #1: She went from seeking validation from emotionally unavailable men to meeting someone who truly saw her and loved her for who she was.

Client #2: Despite severe anxiety about dating apps due to childhood trauma, she used this process to build confidence, find joy in dating, and enjoy meaningful connections.

If you’re not connected to your true self, you might find yourself:

• Chasing romantic fantasies rather than reality.
• Trusting others over your intuition, ignoring actions that don’t match their words.
• Dating people you don’t truly like—or who don’t like you back.

Sound familiar? These patterns keep you stuck in a cycle of heartbreak and self-doubt.

Here are three steps to help you trust in your heart and connect deeply with yourself:

Celebrate and Express Yourself- Pick a creative outlet—cooking, painting, dancing, writing (even badly!). Regular self-expression allows you to feel at home in your own skin and lets your unique essence shine.

Manifest Your Desires- Get clear on what you truly want in a partner and a relationship. Create a vision board, write a list, or even draw it out. Speak these desires aloud and feel them in your heart.

Live Your Truth in Love- Stop trying to cater to others’ expectations. When you show up authentically and fully yourself, you’ll naturally attract the kind of partner who loves and values the real you.

Yes, letting go of control is hard—especially if you’re a planner like me. But when you allow the universe to surprise and delight you, incredible things can happen.

So, ask yourself: Are you willing to stop wasting time and energy on the wrong people and start trusting your heart to lead you to the love you deserve?

We’re diving into the second step of my proven Let Love In framework: the LOVE pillar. This pillar is all about shifting your dating experience from chasing fantasies to embracing your truth and attracting real, lasting love.

The LOVE pillar is central to transforming your dating life. Unlike the common cycle of chasing unavailable partners, this pillar focuses on grounding yourself in self-love and acceptance. In this episode, we explore what it means to truly embrace yourself, release emotional baggage, and align with the kind of love you deserve.

1. Heal and Forgive Yourself

One of the first steps in the LOVE pillar is healing and forgiving yourself. Resentment and unprocessed emotions can cloud your judgment and block you from authentic love. We discuss why forgiveness isn’t about excusing past mistakes but about freeing yourself from their grip.

Personal growth doesn’t require perfection. You don’t have to be fully healed to attract a healthy relationship—just open to the process.

2. Befriend Your Emotions

Instead of rejecting your emotions, learn to welcome them. This allows you to build confidence and recognize your inherent worth. I share a deeply personal story about how embracing my anger transformed my emotional health and helped me see my true value.

Through journaling, EFT tapping, or guided meditations, you can create a safe space for your emotions to surface and be witnessed.

3. Untangle Yourself from Limiting Beliefs

Living in integrity means aligning your inner world with your outward actions. This requires facing and integrating the parts of yourself that you’ve been ignoring. We’ll explore how shadow work and intuitive practices can help you release old patterns and step into a more compassionate, empowered version of yourself.

By trusting your intuition, you open the door to self-respect and better choices in love.

Take some time to reflect on these prompts:

• What fears arise when you think about fully accepting and loving yourself?
• Why is self-love essential to your dating journey?
• How will your life change when you embrace the LOVE pillar and accept yourself with compassion?

• Journaling: Use journaling to connect deeply with your emotions and track your progress.
• EFT Tapping: Release emotional blocks by tapping on pressure points while voicing your fears or limiting beliefs.
• Guided Meditations: Archetypal healing meditations can help you connect with different aspects of yourself to promote healing and integration.

Remember, you don’t have to be “perfect” to attract a meaningful relationship. Self-love is a journey, and the LOVE pillar is your guide to building a fulfilling connection with yourself and others.
