Problem
- We’re always looking for the “right way” to do something
- The problem is we’re doing our due diligence, so we look around for the right way
- We check google, the internet, social media, etc. We ask people we know, our parents, everyone’s opinions.
- We don’t trust our decision making process, so we’re worried we’ll pick the wrong one.
- Wait, if they are all right for other people, then which one is right for me?
- And it creates chaos, and indecision. Analysis paralysis doesn’t just happen
- YOU CREATE IT
Solution- There is only one right step. I kid you not - one. It’s taking any step. It doesn’t matter what you do, just do something.
- You can look at that something, see what worked and what didn’t and then test again to see if your results changed, or it worked better, or you liked it better
- You can’t think your way out of these problems.
- Think about making any recipe. Let's start with making a steak.
- Would we have known the right temperature if we simply spent all our time looking at videos and reading articles?
- Nope, we had to COOK the fucking steak, eat it. And then say, um, not so much - too rare, too well done, not seared enough, etc. And then let's try it again for next time. But you don’t think your way around 150 degrees and then say nah, I don’t like that. You don’t know because you haven’t tried.
- Stop trying to think your way out of problems and start taking action.
HomeworkHere’s what I want you to do. I want you to post in the thread of the live on this page (for those of you who are listening to the podcast this is on Minessa Konecky on Direct to Success, and I want you to declare something that you’ve been going back and forth on the details on.
I want you to declare what it is, and declare ONE action you’re going to take. I promise you, it doesn’t matter what the action is, you just have to take one!
Then, come back and share how you felt after you did the thing - what did you learn? What are you going to try next?
We are so good at manipulating ourselves into feeling horrible and not taking action, its a human skill that we can convince ourselves of anything. Since we have that control, why not capture that power and use to create progress and momentum? I hope that this resonated with you and shined a light on opportunities that ALREADY exist in your business. If you liked this podcast, please leave us a review and let other business owners know how it helped. Our mission at DTS is to help as many women as we can to feel joy and confidence in their business again, and your referrals help us get the message out. Your friends and colleagues will thank you later!
